Ok, your implicit question is therefore ‘how do I raise my infamy?’
IMO playing a lot doesn’t by itself raise your infamy. It will raise your skill level, which will raise your infamy slightly.
What raises your infamy are:
- Improving weapons and other blue and yellow items. (I’ve heard people say that improving speed gives the biggest infamy gains, though I’ve no evidence to support that)
- Training your ‘crew’
- Finding better combinations of weapons and items which suit your style
- Improving your boat level (though this can be a double edged sword as you will face better ships more frequently as a result)
So whilst grinding doesn’t massively directly improve your infamy level, it gives you the resources (sugar, gold) to get buy the tools which do improve your infamy. So grinding does indirectly increase infamy. However it is a slow process. Progress in this game is slow (it can take weeks sometimes to overcome some infamy hurdles. But take your time, be patient, enjoy your wins, learn from defeats and you will get there.
As a bit of advice (as a fellow enforcer) I would not necessarily recommend a railgun at low levels of infamy. It tends to get more powerful at higher levels of training, but it’s cooldown is probably too long for you at your level. As you run a frost cannon, I’d probably recommend a mortar (or perhaps a torp) to shoot those frozen enemies. Once you get 3 red slots on your ships, you can then switch to weapons which have a higher damage level, but with only two slots I’d focus on low cooldown weapons. However, if it works for you, then stick with it.
