Hi! I have s suggest for the game.
The LDM mode. This does the game less lag and more FPS. This removes the explosions of the ships if are defeated, the water particules and more!
Ask to the develoveper to do the LDM mode!
This can be helpful for lagged phones.

I would really enjoy this option mainly because some of the places I use WiFi in can’t handle what the game wants and it will lag really bad.

Sadly for you, graphical latency and network latency aren't the same thing. To make a low-bandwidth alternate network protocol is probably a ton of work. Just getting ANY network profile to work in the way an online game needs given the vagaries of the internet is always a barrel o' fun.

I'm not a guru in async network protocols but my understanding is that it's a black art. The problem is that the internet doesn't behave the way a game would like. You'd like the server to send you some info and you get it... promptly. Then it sends you more and you get that.. promptly... and in proper sequence. But that's not how it works. Instead, the server breaks down the info into a ton of "packets" and those are sprayed willy-nilly over the internet and then recombined at your device. Each of those packets may have taken a different path between their server and your device. They almost certainly arrived out of order. Some of them might have gotten lost or taken a really long time due to a bad route.

Complicating all of that is the fact that players need lower latency than the internet provides as a general rule. So then we get to client-side prediction where your device makes educated guesses about what is happening on the server. Of course, when those guesses are not correct and the server eventually updates your device then the situation changes.

It really is a hairy mess. I'm not saying that they couldn't make a reduced data protocol but the that'd probably be a huge pack o' work for them and would almost certainly introduce new problems (like... say... bigger errors in the predictions).

:(The only thing I can say about that is that you should either play closer to your router/modem/whatever it's called, and remove any obstacles between you and the thingy ( if possible). Otherwise, try half resolution mode. If THAT doesn't work, sorry.

Half resolution is terrible to play on though, super tough to see incoming torpedos / shots etc. I think being able to disable effects or smooth textures might be a good way to cater to players with slower phones.

If you have a slow phone, there is only one thing to do. Switch to defender

Also, if you are able to, try going somewhere with high speed internet, such as South Korea ( they have 29MegaByte/second connection). That may solve your problem.

It's OK, I can see torpedoes fine. I had to switch to it on an older tablet because when there was too much activity in the immediate vicinity I would get a lot of graphics lag... even if the rest of the game was entirely smooth.

That's not network lag though... network lag is almost never a product of the device, it's your cell/wifi signal.
