    I, for one am under the conclusion it's broke, Or it's sucking an object located on the underside of a donkey.
    But let's ignore that and discuss just How To Use Targeting Effectively.

    Post your tips and tricks.

    Mine, Use sticky targets!
    I know some hate it but it solves the problem of the reticle moving to "random" unfriends while your trying to chase down that speeder that just circled past a shooter and having the shot hit neither.

    I use sticky targets. I also generally am a long range attacker, part of that is a result of the terrible aiming system

    They need the button that @BasedCarpen suggested to aim at nearest target. Idk if my settings are messed up but I have a hard time free aiming when any enemy is on the screen and I want to shoot at an enemy not on the screen.

    Also lock every target and lead shots from there. Seems to be how I can be most accurate and no worries about aiming at people I don't want to. And if two boats are close together you can still aim at the other without unlocking from the previous lock.

    First of all I'm lv32 shooter at 3.6k infamy.
    I run dual snipers, big torp, missiles and standard mortar. So I know how to aim with all kinds of weps.

    Target in a group;
    Cannons- lock on to them
    Torp- hit between the fixer and the lowest hp target
    Missiles- press the button you'll probably hit them
    Mortar- same as missiles

    Target alone;
    Cannons- have vision on their ship and not just the radar as you have no clue which way they're facing and shoot according to where they're moving after
    Torp- I don't recommend using it on a single target unless they have debris of a dead shit next to them or something like a wall so you do damage
    Missiles- use it "after" they duke for example; an enforcer would move back and forth so use it immediately after they stop not when they're moving
    Mortar- same as missiles

    Tips;
    1. Avoid hitting a target that is under a giant wave cause it'll probably be an unregistered hit by cannons and other weps with fuck up due to angle of wave
    2. Don't lock on to a speeder it'll fuck up your vision
    3. Only lock on when you have to because you can't check around you after you've locked on. I.e there's a min somewhere close you're probably going to hit it

    thanks for the tips, i’m still learning using big torps, the hardest part when I have to face to face with speeder+torps as well, we made a circle then I was destroyed by their big torps. any suggestion for this situation?

    I don’t have much trouble with targeting, I rarely even lock mine anymore, as I change targets a lot.

    Sometimes it will change when I don’t want it to, but if that were ‘fixed’ it would make it harder to change when I do want it to. So I say keep it how it is. If you don’t want to change targets you can use lock. If you do want to change targets you can use the arrows, or aim with your turret (that’s all I ever do now, it will usually jump towards the most centred target). If you forgot to use lock, or you’re not able to aim with your turret, then maybe that’s an area you could work on.

    The only other tip I can offer is to use the exploding cannon. If two targets are close to each other, and you can’t line up the one behind, ExC hits them both :)

    I play a fixer and I don’t use target lock.
    The current system when lining up a healing bolt to get someone in the front of the pack can be really annoying. Any friendly who moves in front of you it jumps on to. Especially when you have the odd Klingon shooter that takes the phrase “hug the fixer” to the extreme. Or if your trying to find a sweet spot between the ships, wreckage, objects quickly, by the time you target switch through them the opportunity may be gone. I don’t like playing fixer with the target lock on I don’t think it’s the most efficient way of playing the fixer . For weapon I am fine with the targeting but healing at a distance with the bolt I would prefer the option of fully free targeting rather than the “predictive” targeting they currently have.

    Sticky target you select in settings. Target lock locks on a target of your choice (after some tapping and luck -_- )

    I can’t figure out exactly what sticky targets does, but I know it’s the exact opposite of what I really want my targeter to do.

    If regular targeting is 0 and sticky targeting is 1, My ideal targeting system would be analogous to -1
