Hi, I have noticed more and more people lagging at pivotal times in the game. Like when they run into the borders of the map so the game looks like it skips almost, it causes an effect where shots do not register. Also when people are about to get hit hard they start to skip a bit jerk back and forth like a glitch. I'm pretty sure this isn't my connection because I've seen my own team do it plus I have excellent wavelengths.

It seems to me people are messing around with their connection on purpose when they see in battle they are in trouble.

Interesting theory! But it's must likely not true. Whats your ping speed?

It is true that, even if you are on 4G with excellent download, you may have a ping >500, leading to lag. Also, it happens in "Pivotal times" because of the load on the server...or so I guess.

I do see some shady lag spiked, and i'm on wifi with >100 ping. It's usually a shooter tp'ing back and forth.

What I've noticed is that if I'm on a bad mobile connection (say low signal 3G or even edge) then things might work fine for most of the battle, but as soon as the heavy action start (or pivotal moment as you say), things start to lag. Most likely this is because heavy action means more events have to travel down the pipes, demanding higher bandwidth, which saturates low speed connections - leading to lag.

Could it be that you are mixing low framerate (which some people call lag) with high network latency (which is also called lag)? From the server/connection point of view the game doesn't really have "pivotal moments" as the network utilization is pretty much constant. But from the client rendering point of view usually the hectic moments are when a lot of explosions are happening and that is when the framerate drops on many devices which don't have enough grunt to run the game perfectly all the time.

This was def network lag (yellow + red warning triangle). Good to know that network traffic is mostly constant, means that this probably was because of a varying cellular signal - and not the game traffic per se.
