I have always wondered why there is power overlap between different rarities of the same item. For example t4 epic = t5 rare (if that is the correct correlation). Shouldn't a t1 epic be slightly more powerful than a t5 rare? We spend a lot of time and resources to upgrade items when the higher rarity item isn't more effective than our current max item until it is t4. I'm sure there is some kind of balancing purpose for this and if you can explain I'm all ears.
I suggest they change item power between rarities so we are more inclined to use the items of a higher rarity. This would not only make things more interesting but it would also dissuade seal clubbing if there was more to gain from using epics over rares. If the items are changed to how I described a T1 legendary would have both more power and gearscore than say a max rare. That grey area where items are equally effective at different rarities is where most of the clubbing takes place.
Also it would be nice I we could trade or evolve a max item into a level 1 of the next rarity. This would allow us to make upgrades and start using the higher rarity item faster as well as gaining something from a max item that will benefit us more than parts and powercells of a rarity we have moved past.

I think a change like that would be too drastic. Now that everyone's got weapons they're happy with, changing the rarity/level/upgrade requirements would throw everyone off.
Also, according to this system, if someone was lucky enough to get an Epic item in their first few days of playing the game (or just bought one for real money), all their Rare items would be pretty obsolete. There'd be no point in using anything else. Changing this would mean changing the probability of getting certain rarities of item/item piece from chests, and changing the availability of special offers.
It might have worked if it was implemeted when Battle Bay first came out, but I feel like it's a needless change, with too many complications involved. Sorry. :(

That is what the game is like already. I started a mini account not long ago, and was running into Epic Weapons before I’d even finished bot battles. When I started my main account, there was an introductory offer for a Rare Blast and some pearls, now it’s for an Epic Blast and an Epic crate. No wonder there is so much power creep.

So they would run only one weapon with no other weapons or blues, greens, yellows depending on their ship? I'm not sure how this would effect drop chances for chests or offers, if anything it would put p2p players in harder matches which IMO adds balance. Part and cell requirements wouldn't change.
I guess I'm not understanding your points, can you elaborate?

Yeah, but as it is I still use Rare items, and a few Uncommon items, even though I have a bunch of Epics and one Legendary.
When people get Epics early on, the weapons are good but not game-breaking. In this system, once someone has an Epic Item, they would use it in basically every battle because it would be way better than any of their other stuff.

No. I meant that they would use that weapon basically all the time. They'd never play a game without it, because all of their other items would be obsolete.
For instance, if I was a Shooter who got an Epic Cannon in my first few days playing the game, I'd use it whenever it was off Cooldown. If I were to get a second one, I'd never need to fire anything else because nothing else would be nearly as powerful as my two Epic Cannons.
I wasn't saying it would affect drop rates for Items of diferent rarities. I'm saying the developers would have to make Epics harder to get (with luck) so that beginners wouldn't get Epic Items and lose all interest in Rares, Uncommons, and Commons.

Maybe this should only be between epics and leggys.. leggys need to be 100% better than epics all the time. Just increase leggy power on level one by A LOT so that they are better at starting than t5 epics. Then increase rarity of leggy pieces a bit. Problem solved. ( switch event boxes to every 15 or 20 instead of 10 as well if you do this)

At this point, the game Is like a professional Jenga match. Managing to stand on that one block in the middle. On the bottom.

I don't think it's a good idea. Legendaries (reds) are way easier to obtain than t5 epics. Not only you have to get lucky to get 6 of them but also have to spend thousands of resources to get it to t5 and thats only if you have the crew talents. So it's pretty balanced.
Level 10 legendaries already have better base stats than level 41 epics. It's just the extra perk that makes epics better which I think is fair reward for spending all that time and resources on epics.

High level players and clubbers already have a collection of legendaries. They will simply switch over to better weapons and keep clubbing plus making legendary harder to obtain from that point would hurt no one but new players.

This is true but the result would be lower level players with better equipment against higher level players with worse equipment instead of low level players with bad equipment against high level players with good equipment which is how it should be.
