OK, firstly, I'm posting this in the knowledge that it will probably never be implemented.

The scatter mine is an interesting idea that I came up with. It is similar to the Mine but with a couple key differences. First, it has roughly 1/8th the damage, and fires clusters of 5 mines. Second, it arms much faster, but also "expires" much faster. Scatter mines have a smaller blast radius and a slightly smaller detonation radius. They also have a chance to set enemies on fire for 3 seconds. They would have a roughly equal cooldown to normal mines. This weapon would allow you to block off a larger area than the mine does, but would have a reduced DPS to compensate.

 

K then a defender could easily bulldoze through the minefield. *_*

U mean there will be miners( ships loaded with mines)?

 

Yes. imagine, if a shooter with 5 slots loaded with mines. with many mini mines, that has a life of 1 minutes. 25% of the map will be filled with it in 1 minutes.

 

And force people to leave the game from cancerous lag
