I think that's cuz of your low level yellow items, when I run speeder I only have 4.4k gs because of the same reason.

I would. You can get higher dps with a blast cannon than with an explosive cannon. Better projectile speed too. You only get an opportunity to benefit from splash damage on the EC maybe once every 20 games.

After the cooldown and range nerf on the explosive cannon, I've been working to build blast cannons, but I still don't have the items required to swap it out. It's a better weapon but the downside is it conflicts with sniper cannon loadouts.

 

If it wasn't for the sniper conflicts, I'd switch my EC to a BC in a heartbeat.

Max epics:
1-slot BC (w/ damage perks): 144 dps, higher projectile speed (easier to hit with), lower cooldown
2-slot EC (w/ damage perks): 129 dps, splash damage

 

Is that BC’s dmg includes captain talent too? I dont build BC so idk

 

No offense but what infamy range are you at? Just curious

 

Splash damage is more like once every 15 shots, not once every 20 games. I find many chances when enemy ships are crossing each other or are clumped together with fixer.

I got 143 dps for bc and 130 dps for ec when I calculated it, but they're close enough so it doesn't matter lol. I just felt the need to calculate it for myself, because I didn't know blast cannon dealt that much more dps than ex cannon.

 

I have a max epic EC so I know that part is right.

I calculated the BC .. so there could be some variance in the rounding I used to calculate it (since we aren't given damage in tenths), but I got 133.5xxx and rounded up

 

I got 133.xxxxxx and the first digit was lower than 5, so I rounded down. And for the ex cannon, do you have all the stuff selected for area damage and all weapon damage etc on other crew members as well? Lots of area damage training on Mortimer and sinklair, and all weapon damage stuff on blastian. I think.
