Is This an Exploit?

A subtle but important change was made to Battle Bay last update. Now, if you win a Quest, you get all of the sugar no matter how much sugar you have, as long as you aren't maxed. So, for example, if you have a 1.5mln sugar limit, and you're at 1,499,500 and you get a quest worth 100,500, you'll be at 1.6mln instead of 1.5mln.

So if I get maxed, buy a common cannon and upgrade it once, costing 500 sugar, then collect my quest reward and use it to level up a crew member I wouldn't have otherwise been able to afford, is that an exploit? Thanks.

Just in case you're serious, and to leave no doubts: no, it's not. The overcap is an intended change, it was in the patch notes and a dev posted about it somewhere too.

 

He's not asking if over cap is an exploit. He means let's say your maximum sugar cap is 795,000. One of Burnice's upgrades is 895,000. If we get max sugar and grab a quest, you can upgrade burnice at a lower level than usual due to your sugar cap not being high enough. If that's not an exploit, great!
