Is friend searching coming soon?

I started playing this game about a week ago. It's a pretty addicting game but there are some flaws. I understand it is a relatively new game, and I realize they are probably working very hard on it.

I'm wondering, is friend searching going to be a thing in the near future? I know you can add friends when you see people in chat or something, however sometimes I battle on the team of someone and want to add them but I can't because of this limitation. Is this feature in the works?
