Infamy Tiers

    I wish they had tiers of infamy based on performance. I shouldnt lose 24 points when we lose 5-0 but i put up 1000+ hit points, but couldnt kill anyone because I was attacked by everyone on their team, while my whole team watches. Just like when you win, it should be tiered infamy points towards you if you barely fought the whole game

    It’s a team game bruh. Not an I did better than my team so I deserve more rewards game. Keep your teammates alive and you’ll go up in infamy. That is all

    Well you do get more rewards when you do better than the rest (stars).

    It would be nice if (as you say) infamy were based on individual contribution.

    The problem is, it’s impossible to come up with a system that accurately measures individual contribution.

    Ships can support the team in lots of different ways that are hard to measure. For example, speeders being a distraction. Also, some people use weapons like mines and napalm, which might do little in terms of damage overall, but be a huge help controlling the map.

    How are you going to measure exactly how distracting someone is? Or how well someone controlled the map with napalm? It’s impossible.

    No matter how hard you try, or how long you spend tweaking the system, it will never be accurate, and all you will have done is introduced a bias.

    For all its faults, the infamy system we have is ‘at least’ unbiased. The objective is pure: win with your team, however you can.

    It’s easy to blame your team when you lose with ‘top damage’, but I often see ‘top damage’ go to the worst players (the people who actually cost thier team the game).

    If you’re continually getting top damage and losing, then maybe the problem is you.
