    becsuse people have been teasing me that I should get a std mortar from combining, I already *have* one, but it’s an epic.

    many people say that mortars get worse as you progress (ships accelerat faster and move faster in general)
    and, the damage is about a cannon's shot, except it doesnt react to fire.

    Standard Mortar may be the one item I wouldn't give you a hard time for scrapping. Mine is a Legendary T1 @960 damage (vs your T4E at 694), and it's still not worth using over any of my other Rare weapons, and no one uses it at end game. However, I do keep mine for guild quests.
