    Dear players,

We have just taken action against the Guild Quest Exploit in Battle Bay, which we announced on Monday.
First of all, we would like to apologize for the confusion and widespread perception of foul play this has caused. We heard all your concerns and want to assure you that a great game experience and fair play for us is at the heart of everything.

Obviously, the existence of a weakness in game design is our fault. We should have reacted faster in our communication. However, the existence of our mistake doesn't excuse players' deliberate actions to take advantage of it.

What happened was, that players found out a loophole by creating a new guild, completing the easiest guild quests, claiming rewards, and then creating another guild to start again. This lead to some players gaining a substantial amount of guild tokens much faster than intended and encouraging others to do the same.

After studying the impact of the exploit, we have come to the following decisions:

1 ) Those players who abused the mechanic the most have received an account rollback to the state it was in before October 2nd 2017. That includes only their inventory and all resources. IAPs purchased during the affected period will be restored. (Pearls and daily deals.)

2 ) The rest of the players who abused this loophole to gain guild tokens will have their token balance set to a negative amount proportional to the amount they gained.
This means that any guild tokens earned after this will be used to "paying back" their "debt". Once the "debt" is paid, they can go back to earning guild tokens like everyone else.

The above actions are in proportion to the degree of abuse.
The affected accounts were temporarily suspended for the short duration of performing the rollback operation.

3 ) All players who have contributed to guild quests and have NOT abused the loophole will be given 42.000 guild tokens (enough for 12 spins and a bonus spin).

What counts as "exploiting a game mechanic"?

In this particular instance, if you claimed more than 2 full boards of guild tokens from the same difficulty during the same Rivalry (Guild Quest Week), then you are considered to have abused the loophole.

Where do we go from here?

As this was our first occurrence of such magnitude we learned a lot and again apologize for the confusion created.
In the future, we have a zero tolerance against exploiting game mechanics or bugs as well as inciting others to break the rules. What we would like to encourage everyone to do, as your help is crucial in maintaining a fair and fun environment in Battle Bay, is to report bugs and possible exploits to us directly. We do read, care and act as quickly as possible.

How to report and understand more around this topic:
Please read our newly revamped Fair Play policy here: https://forum.battlebay.net/threads/please-read-fair-play-policy-code-of-conduct-in-game.13346/

Enjoy the rest of your day in the Bay!
