Gold Use

I notice that my gold is maxed out and I can't receive any rewards that contain gold. What do I spend the gold on?

 

parts, perks, items or item pieces from the shop. you can also upgrade your ships.

 

I wish I had way to sell you a bridge...could put your gold to good use!

 

As I continued to 'look around' in the game, I eventually figured it out. But, thank you for the help anyway.

Buy items to scrap. Even common items have a good chance to give you a rare piece

you can always spend gold on common and uncommon items, but ultimately this is inefficient. You will want to spend your gold on upgrading your ship (get those crewmembers training for captain xp!), and parts for new rare/epic items (increasingly common based on levels it seems). Its cheaper than buying the items outright, and you can save up for them much sooner. You can scrap your reward items for the bits used to upgrade items. If you have spare gold and an not buy all this (and aren't saving for an expensive upgrade), then put your gold into the best parts you can commonly use to upgrade your stuff.

 

Parts, parts, and more parts. If you think you have enough parts, you don't, keep buying parts. If you have gold and the shop isn't empty, you're doing it wrong. Anything that appears in that section of the shop, unless you're saving up for an expensive ship or weapon upgrade, should already be in your inventory if you can afford it. If I had your gold... well, I wouldn't. It would already be traded in for parts.

 

Being gold capped wont last, enjoy it while you are

Apart from uncommon parts the others will all come in handy at some point - Once you start to only level rare/epic/p2w-rarity items you will be struggling for parts.
(Except for uncommon as the 15star box gives you a constant flow of them).
