Forum Registration broken

Hi,

the forum registration is broken somehow. i had problems myself and my friend FancyMcJackson is not able to get into this forum. We both use the same email provider and there is no confirmation email send. we double checked spam and everything did resend, contacted support, wrote PM in this forum but no response yet. sorry if i bugger you about this. Our Provider gmx.de hosts about 30% of all email addresses in Germany so maybe there are more people with this problem.

if u want to register here at this forum, you need to confirm your email address by receiving an email, and than clicking a link which redirects you to this forum. Afterwards you are ready to use this forum. This is an issue in many forums, because some email providers think these mails are spam, and redirect them into your spam folder. in my case, this did not happen. i registered my old username and never received this email. I never experienced this before but i think i know where to search if an email is missing. so after my friend had the same problem i am pretty sure that it is related to our emailprovider because we both use the same provider. Gladly i have a second email at gmail.com and i just registered another account (the one i am writing with now) using the gmail email with no problem. but still, the other one never made its way to me. And because this provider is kind of big in germany, there are maybe others who can not reply to this post because they simply are not able to join this forum.

The problem seems be in some restrictions that specific provider has. Does FancyMcJackson have another e-mail that could be used before this hopefully gets fixed in some point?

Sure, he has one. I managed to get into here aswell, but he is not willing to change his name to FancyMcJackson3000 (i tried to convince him many times ). But thats not the main point. if he would have an important point to make he would find a way in this forum. But not everybody has 2 email addys and not everybody is able to realize what is the issue is.

What my point is: I know that gmx is not google. but GMX is a big player on the german market. there will be more people with this issue...

 

I had the same problem with my own domain hosted by hostpoint.ch. The supporter could not manually verify me for over 8 emails on my part. However, it came after the Whitlist entry of the email address. If someone meets the same problem, should whitelist the email "noreply@battlebay.net"! A subsequent change of the email address is also possible if you can not whitlist.
