I was just wondering what percentage of floaters should we expect in our matches. Seems to me there’s a pretty high percentage of floaters on my teams. Or does everyone have the same issue? I feel like I see floaters more often when I am reaching my max infamy, almost like the system recognizes someone is a floater and puts them on my team to start my infamy loss period. I might just be projecting though ;)

I and other’s have said the same thing, so I don’t think it’s just you, or just me. It’s a regular occurrence, and really not good.

I don't see a lot of floaters these days, but when I do, I feel like I see slightly more on my side even though probability-wise I should see more on the other team because there are four people who are not you on your team and five on the other team. But that means the more I see them on my side, the less the enemies see them.

Also, naming and shaming is not allowed on the forums.

Probably just a psychological quirk, sometimes floaters are taken out mid game and if you win you don't really notice or care but if your last man alive is a floater it compounds the negative effect on the losing sides players making it more memorable.

About 10 percent of my battles have a floater on my team. How about you? FYI: I can’t help it if people feel shame because the truth was told. Besides, chances are they will never see this post. As it is, how will such problems be rectified? Surely Rovio can tell whether or not a player is well connected to the game and shouldn’t float. Can they not exclude people from battles with a weak connection?

I'm sure this is purely coincidental, as I've had floaters on the enemy team help me push my infamy higher probably just as often as its hindered me.

It's hard to distinguish between someone floating for legitimate reasons (battery dies mid battle, some emergency comes up, etc.) and someone who is trying to cheat the system. I also see many "floaters" using autopilot now to make it less noticeable .

This. I mean, the other day someone added me at the end of the battle, and straight up accused me of cheating - I had to take a pretty damn important phonecall, hence I floated about 1 Min at the start of the match. Nevermind the fact that I did almost double his damage (with 3 weps to his 5!!) And we won the game! So yeah, sometimes it happens to people for legit reasons

Statistically, floaters are actually more likely to give YOU an advantage :D
Over many games, the fact that there are floaters will work in your favour!

There's 5 players on each team.
Your team has you + 4 players or potential floaters. (Because, you're never the floater, right?? riiiight??)
The enemy team got 5 players or potential floaters.

Let's say the chance of any given player being a floater is 0.5% (number taken straight from the butt).
    Chance of one or more friendly floaters: 1 - 0.995^4 = 0.01985 = 1.96%
    Chance of one or more enemy floaters: 1 - 0.995^5 = 0.02475 = 2.48%

Oh yeah! Floaters are good for you! :)

All this goes out the window if you're a floater yourself though..
So moral of the story: DON'T BE A FLOATER, AND YOU'LL COME OUT AHEAD!

(Edit: Didn't notice that @SeaNavy posted the same (obvious?) conclusion)

Problem with this idea is that there is just as likely to be a “never floats” on the other team.
