EX Cannon is Busted since last 2 updates. FIX suggested below

Hello Battle Bay community and devlopers,
Ex cannon got nerfed previous 2 updates. Area damage and fire damage reduced.
And now this update distance reduced and cool down increased. This is a 20 percent total dps reduction. Major

Shot speed is still extremely slow. Ie lag affect. Ex cannon has more missed shots from server side than any other weapon in the game.

This nerf has effectively ended Meta for all Defenders in the bay.

No one was even requesting this nerf. Seems like it was meant as an indirect speeder nerf
My proposal for a fix that's fair.
1) speed up ex cannon shots by 5.
2) make it a one slot weapon.
3) if not a one slot weapon. Increase base damage by 15 percent. Make it like big torp.

Speed up shots will be good.
Increasing base damage will be good.
1 slot or 2. It will be okay either way if above 2 are updated.

Its longer cd than
Missiles
Big torpedo
Mortar family, etc.
What kind of advantage does ex cannon have to justify this nerf? It doesn't really affect shooter or defenders significantly
since they can shoot multiple ones but it doesnt really work on speeders anymore bc 1 missed shot and ur waiting a lifetime to shoot it again

The range is same as a blast can
The splash is insignificant
The bullet flies slower than blast can
But its mutha who? 15sec cd?!
Base dmg higher than blast can i suppose... but the gun is so similar to a blast cannon now just crappier u might as well just delete the gun from the game.

Maybe the nerf is directed at nightmare players? Cause at 2300 infamy i feel like this gun is crap even tho mines is a t4 epic x can... i might just switch back to my t4 rare blast can

When u calculate a 20 percent dps nerf here. Why is this weapon needed in game? What makes it special now. And how to make it usable?
No one asked for another ex cannon nerf on any forums. Except over and over we begged for shot speed to improve so it wouldn't be a server side misfire caused by server lag.

No fix was given.
Shot speed must go up now or this weapon is usuless. 1 slot instead of 2. Or. Up the entire base damage. This weapon has been massively weakens here. Pure dps says now it's overall damage per shot must be risen. 15%.

I ask these questions in this tone. Since on forums we have asked over and over for ex cannon fixes for shots registering not nerfs.

So now. How about a buff? Or this weapon should be eliminated and pearls spent buying it should be returned.
U all know this nerfed defender boats right?

 

The devs made not one but two updates to solve shots not registering.

 

Not for ex cannon. Slowest cannon in bay. Historically misfires.

Needs a speed up

 

It says in the update. General fix.
You can choose to argue not for ex cannon, but what do you think the dev will do. They are just going to ignore probably or lecture you with some fancy words.

 

Mika, my thread isn' to lecture anyone. But to ask for solid fix to ex cannon that makes it usable.
Many people in VIP and forums dislike this nerf. So now ex cannon must be adjusted. Not back to what it was.

But to something improved. And different.

Right now it is now a second cousin to blast cannon. It needs to speed up. And increase base damage. Or it' a worthless 2 spot weapon

 

If I could read the devs minds, they would be thinking "alot of complaints, but our statistics don't lie, people still be using the weapon, let's nerf it further"

 

it would be enough just to speed up the charging time of the weapon and bring the flow as it was before, this was not wanted by anyone in many are complaining, I hope they welcome our request

 

I am defender player with my combo is flare gun + exp canon and the devs killed this combo ! Hope they will give us old version of exp canon because now i must wait more 2s every time fire the enemy and is is very very long time.

 

just return it back to its usual stats before this update it was fine that way increasing in dmg will only lead to one shotting of mk5 by whales.
It will be like a big torp with fire dmg perks.

If they won' return it to how it was. Improve it please. Shot speed and base damage improvement.

This nerf affects defender and speeders.
And devs have not answered any questions on EC nerf so far.

 

I don't use the ex cannon. But I'm offended for ex cannon users. It's pretty messed up that people have spent their hard-earned money on upgrading that weapon or any weapon for that matter, just for them to do that. And I don't even spend money on the game but if I did I would probably never play this game again. Just so you know if enough people would actually get over the addiction and boycott for a little while maybe they would stop nerfing stuff all together. Because we can post a million threads a million comments about this and it's never going to change they will probably continue to do this until everything is nerfed eventually. If it's that much of a problem to us all boycott the game or boycott spending money to upgrade weapons, because what's the point? They are just going to take the money that you gave them and then make your weapons not as powerful. And another thing for those who are upset that their stuff got nerfed I would really appreciate it if you would stop suggesting that other people's weapons should be nerfed. How about nothing gets nerfed? Stop complaining about sniper cannons if you're offended that you're Telsa bolt or explosive Cannon got nerfed. Thank you

 

nerfing an item just because it is popular and commonly used is not item balancing it is item unbalancing.

 

i agree that if the range is nerfed to be the same as blast cannon and flare then the projectile speed should be increased to coincide. It was always a difficult item to use compared to other cannons because the projectile speed and the increased range was sort of a trade off. now, there is no trade off.
