Epic railgun help needed

so I just got my first epic weapon.... a railgun
Now that sounds great and all but
I'm a speeder mostly and hate the railgun reload time
Does anyone have any play suggestions? Should I just scrap it?
Or upgrade it and see what happens? If so how do you play with it well and have fun?

 

I've got a rare railgun that I love and am ready to elevate to T2 as soon as I get Buzzkill trained up but it will take time and a lot of shoog, so I can only imagine upgrading your epic without spending moocho cash... Nevertheless I like to use mine especially at the start of the battle to draw the other team's attention to my big defender and away from the shooters so hopefully my team dishes out the hurt while I play peek a boo and shoot from cover. At the lower levels it's worked great now that I time my shots better, not sure if it's a great investment for the higher levels but I guess I'll find out.

 

And if it helps, I usually get to fire my railgun about 3-5 times per game

 

Not advisable to use rail gun on speeder when it's damage output is low, the cool down duration at low level just don't justify the damage output on lower level. If your are playing hit and run from far then can keep upgrading it for future use once you have most of the crew talent unlocked, if not might as well scrap it for power cells and parts for other item upgrade.

I have 2 x epic Railguns. Currently one is lvl 10 waiting on buzzkill (have't even got 1 point in buzz yet I'm lvl 17 with 900 infamy). I play a shooter and it works reasonable as a finisher. Or an opener that chunks and enemy to half or 2/3 hp which then helps my team focus fire and get an early pick.
On a speeder I can't imagine it would be very useful, at least not till maybe late game when you could speed around and get easy kills on half health opponents then speed of during recharge

 

You could add railgun since its 2 slot points but you will need a cannon or carronade to keep your opponent busy when in a battle if they come after you!

If anything i would suggest using the blast cannon for now its a mini railgun but has a faster reload time and based on the lvl it could do more damage than a railgun too! i use blast cannon and 90% of the time i do more damge than a railgun.

 

Do not use a railgun on a speeder. It's damage per shot may be massive but you want real dps.
I just can't picture a speeder who doesn't harass the slow turning boats. You would have to peek, shoot, then hide for 22 seconds. Don't be that speeder who runs in and does 0 damage and dies. Lol
