End of Season Recap (Top 50)

Since @Kitterini has been slacking ... we haven't had an end of season breakdown by boat type in while. Here is the data for the top 50 in nightmare for the season that ended yesterday.

Speeder = 18
Shooter = 16
Enforcer = 10
Fixer = 4
Defender = 2



*Many in top 50 are multi-boat users, but I made educated guesses at their most played boat for the season.

Something to Note. If one went top 200 for the same season. Only 3 total defender only players. Developers. @The Grim Repair @Miika @Dmg don
We are seeing this boat dying before our very eyes.
What young mk2 thru mk4 will want to be a defender when they can clearly see end game defender isnt viable?
We dont have Porthos, Peelah, Benjens anymore. They mostly all retired because of the inherent flaws of the defender boat.
If anything this again proves meta. Defender is next up for a buff.
My 10 x 10 x 10 buff is a right starting spot.
I 0 percent turret buff, 10 percent rudder buff, and 10 percent overall ship size reduction.
And maybe it might be time to evaluate mk7 defenders to get a 4th single slot weapon.

I say this all knowing that some will argue why fix defender at all? But meta doesnt lie. 2 months now. And no defender has broken 5.5k. No defender has made top 10 since last two updates. End game defender is busted.
Its such a great boat. Lets not have it die.

Developers you have buffed every other boat in the bay. And end game. A speeder, and enforcer, a shooter and a fixer have all won the highest honor in the game...ie highest infamy for 2 weeks. Not a defender. Isnt this saying the truth about the boat?
The boat moves cruddy. And it is easy to hit with every weapon. If the attributes and size of boat wont be fixed. Then add a weapon slot.
Its time to fix this asap. Read in future update suggestions how many lower mk defenders talk about quiting the game if the boat isnt fixed. This is an issue. If developers want a defender to test fixes I volunteer. My highest defender only score was 5.3k.
Lets get this boat back to ballanced in the bay. And make for more exciting battles.

I made 11 last season and 10 the previous one mainly playing defender. Styx. I have to say tho it took much more effort than doing it in a yellow

Looks like the Enforcer buff is starting to make its impact. Only two classes left to buff (and two to, dare I say it, nerf)

 

Benjen's still playing. Changed his name to "NaotSugu" or something. And still with his defender.

 

Yep him and Styx were the two defenders in top 50 I believe.

 

Styx. Thanks for piping in. Usually our figures are from never switching boats ever the entire season when in regards to defender. Still the boat needs help. What is your highest defender only scores?
And does anyone here believe defender only can break 6k?

Defender could use a buff (mk5 at least is a big red floating bullseye) but a mk7 and some mk6 defenders are freaking scary!! 18k+ hp just sneaks up on you and you are dead. 1 problem that may make new players change boats is its slow speed, but it isn’t an issue in nightmare really. So maybe lower level speed buff??

 

highest would be 2 seasons ago in the 5700s but I think 6k would be super tough if not impossible

 

They'll probably introduce something like 10-12k defender hp cap to push lubes and rudders. Want attribute buffs? do it yourself.
Add me to the list of dead defenders. Lol, I don't even know whats the point of playing defender or the game in general when my own team gets an automatic disadvantage due to my own ship.

 

M all in for its size reduction it's almost too easy to hit a defender.
Another good buff will be a little increase in base speed because defender's main advantage is coming right into the enemies face and with its speed as of now it's gets destroyed before reaching the enemy.

 

What?? 20% of top players are Enforcers?

I smell a nerf coming.
Next update:

• Enforcer HP will be reduced by 50%.
• Tesla Shield base HP changed to - 200 HP
• Enforcer MK5 base speed will be reduced by 10% (because you know why not)

That's unacceptable that there's so many Enforcers in top 50.
