    Happily it doesn’t rain steel pipes right now. There is nothing on the hand, I just gonna let them smell a poopy. I’m keeping them in the holes... Most battles don’t walk in the soup. So go your gang and win, because when one sheep is over the dam, the others follow

    Meaning : you never know what is going to happen

    Het paard achter de wagen spannen - Put the horse behind the carriage
    Meaning: Doing it the wrong way around

    Als een kip zonder kop - As a chicken without its head
    Meaning: doing something without any thought

    Als het kalf verdronken is dempt men de put - After the calf has drowned they fill in the hole or pit
    Meaning: You act too late, you should have taken action before hand, not until something happened, which was foreseeable

    Beter ten halve gekeerd, dan ten hele gedwaald - Better to turn around half way, than to get lost completely.
    Meaning: is clear I reckon

    Hoge bomen vangen veel wind - Tall trees catch a lot of wind
    Meaning: people in high places have to endure constant scrutiny and have to bear the brunt when something goes wrong

    There isn't a saying like that in English, but if you want to translate it anyway I would go for pity peanutbutter. That sounds best and funny.

    Btw non-Dutch speakers (and readers) it means: too bad, it does not work. Better luck next time.

    Yes, it can mean that as well. But also 'jammer', 'jammer genoeg' or 'I pity him', which means 'I feel sorry for him'.
