I didn't like it. By far, it was the worst special event in which I didn't get the feel of a team.

I liked it, it was badly balanced so 90% of games were impossible to win, but as with all events, they are free, optional and give chance at free gear.
I also liked the 35 coins with the 3 different boxes (parts, pieces and perks) to spend the coins on, thought this was a much better system.
I got the legendary perk, and with all the play time, purchased my first MK6 ship.

I win like 60~70% but not a fan cuz I gotta go against much stronger enemies. Atleast it's better than the previous and the match is like real quick.

Loved the event tbh! Used my usual ranking setup/ship and had about an 80% or so win rate... Think it's safe to say that the yellow boats dominated this time tbh! Managed to get the legendary perk (for fixer... The only boat I have never used, go figure!) But the gold it scrapped for helped me toward my Mk5 shooter.
Much prefer the 3 types of boxes too, gives us a bit more choice over what we can get, without totally sacrificing the RNG aspect.
My only gripe this time was the matchmaking seemed truly whacked out at times... I honestly started to feel bad by the end, constant winning kinda made it more boring (to me at least!)
(Oh, and be prepared for a near fatal salt overdose in this thread.... Can see it coming a mile off haha)

They should at least bring it back sometime, maybe with new settings

Aren't selfish fixers at a disadvantage due to how coins are calculated (damage and win)? Because SF can absorb a lot of damage, which means the enemy will do a lot of damage even if they don't win.

Loved it. Still find some people(especially shooters and defenders, no surprise there) calling speeders and enforcers pussies, hiders, play like man etc:p. What were they supposed to do? Sit still and take your shot to face?

I loved it. This was by far the most rewarding event to skilled players. I ran my full gear score setup (10k+) and won 80+% of my battles. The only people that didn't like this event were: 1. people with ships/setups that don't favor 1v1. 2. people with low skill. 3. people who complain about everything.

I loved it too, but even then, I feel it was pretty hard on non-duelling classes. I for one got a huge winstreak, but found that it must have been brutal on some of my enemies.

To me personally it was a big eye opener how much I actually suck at 1vs1 :D

Before the event I always considered myself a decent duelist but now I feel I should always avoid 1vs1 at any cost.

Or wait.. Should I just blame the devs or the matchmaking instead? :p

Had an 80% to 90% win rate. Got matched up against shooters, enforcers, defenders. Most enforcer matches wound up in draw. Most defender/shooter matches wound up with my victory. I played more infamy games than event games this weekend.

I wasn't a big fan of the event, I felt like the combat was stale. I felt bored largely due to my boat being slow and cycling through only three weapons. Maybe if I had more dynamic set-ups with yellow boat I would have enjoyed it more.

I do like the awards system, parts, perks, or pieces.

One of the first honest and rational reviews I've read from a Defender main. I think you are the first one that realizes that Defenders aren't made for 1v1. They aren't supposed to be good at everything. The fact that Defenders dominated every event up to this and then kinda struggled in this one is a good thing.

Not surprised a bunch of enforcers liked the event, lol.

But seriously, it was a fun event. But only really for people with decent win rates. Mine was somewhere between 80-90%, so I had a good time.As an MK5 defender playing at about 2700-2900 infamy, I'm used to fighting uphill battles against shooters with almost as much HP as me. So when I jumped into this event and all the opponent ships have half the HP that I'm used to playing against i was rubbing my hands together. Even though I felt I did well, I felt like a lot of my matches were one sided in my favor. A lot of my opponents had half my infamy despite having similar captain level and similar gear.

Seems like the general consensus around here is that this was an event that highly favored Enforcers and Speeders, but I felt like I dominated with the Defender, most of my losses came against other Defenders. Enforcers were tricky to play against as they danced around a rock or something, but once you catch them, they melt pretty quickly thanks to carronade. Some did force draws against me. Shout out to all you MK6 enforcers with legendary weapons who after getting the score to 1-1, proceeded to run away and try and draw against an MK5 Defender still running nothing but level 4 rare gear. Scaredy cats. Speeders rarely posed a problem for me due to their low HP.

I think what weapons people used played a big part. Too many people I played against were running mortars, firebombs, big torpedos, etc Or in other words, weapons which are bad in 1v1 situations. The better weapons were the high burst damage stuff like ex cannon, blast cannon, flare, grenade and probably the best 1v1 weapon of all, carronade. Carronade rips through the yellow ships like they werent there and still do a decent job on Shooters. Defenders have abit of natural protection against them (probably why I lost to Defenders more than any other ship. Most brang a standard lineup of ex cannons and stuff which lined up against my carronade put me at a slight disadvantage). Also I feel the slow effect on cannonade was crucial in many matches for me. It basically allowed me to chain the freeze affect on enemies, never really allowing them to create any distance once I got close. This helped immensely against enforcers trying to dance around rocks. Obviously most people don't have the luxury of what weapons they get to use, its all luck of the draw so you gotta use what you have at your disposal.

Ran into a few matchmaking manipulators. People who normally run MK7s with a bunch of legendaries suddenly in an MK4. My high HP saved me against them, even though they did alot of damage, their own HP was so low they didn't really pose too much of a problem. I can imagine these guys being super annoying for non defenders though.

I feel bad for people who main fixers though. Unless they happen to be one of those weirdos who run a selfish fixer they were left out in the cold big time by this event. I didn't play asingle fixer forthe entire event, but after looking at player profiles I could see a fair few who main fixer but had to use a different boat. This puts them at a bigger disadvantage than probably most realize. All their crew upgrades are probably for the benefit of the fixer ship, so even if their captain level is similar to yours their true effective level is much lower.

Overall I would still say enforcer is the best ship for this event though. How many people run a leveled carronade? Not many i assume. I wouldn't have been able to win against any of them without it I think.

Event was boring as an event. Would be better as a rewarded mode to mix in every once in awhile. I got better prizes than I ever had due to all the coins but it felt way grindier because it was basically the same 2 or 3 battles over and over and over again. Which it shouldn't have been due to all the great variety of gear available... illustration of how bad this dev team is at actually maintaining and improving the competitive aspects of a MOBA.

Yeah, I agree that reward system was better. 3 low cost boxes to choose from, but I didn't buy any because I am saving for legendary. :)

I think this reward system should be made permanent for the special events.

Like many said, the rewarding system is good but the battle interested died off quickly. I played 4 ships and kinda guess who win most of the battles. After a while, I was trying out strategies more than caring for winning. The matchmaking was terrible at times (favoring me). Some yellow boats played for a 0-0 tie while doing more damages.
