I'm here to talk about dancing and stars.

As an Enforcer one of the satisfying and fun parts of the game is to dance. As we Enforcers ride the waves and the bullets zip around us our team of shooters and defenders and healers destroy the enemy. Of course, Enforcers are not invincible, and unfortunately even the best enforcers get hit by a well placed Rail gun from time to time. However this got me thinking.

I have a Mrk 4 shooter and a Mrk 4 Enforcer. I switched from my shooter because I realized my play style needed more speed and agility, The Enforcer was the logical step and as I hoped my infamy skyrocketed because of the switch. yet, as my infamy rose I noticed that my stars and Damage was severely reduced in the matches. The damage was an obvious one but "why my stars?" I asked myself.
As the forum will show there is a "secret sauce" to stars. No one really knows exactly what is done to get more or less although I'm sure we all agree that the stars encourage "team work." the fact that this game relys so heavily on teamwork is one of the draws for many of us. because of team work fire damage, frozen targets, and healing all play a part in the amount of stars we get. But how does dancing play in?

It could not be argued that a good Enforcer has the main purpose of supporting the team, we do not go for the most damage, we do not take on hordes of enemy's alone. we are distractions, we stop flanking, thinks like that. but if an enforcer was to distract all the enemy team and deflect damage with its shield and turbo there is no way to "track that" when we are shot at and it misses because of fancy dancing there is no "Secret Sauce" that says "well done sir, here is your star for teamwork.

My conclusion, is that their may be team building actions that are not rewarded for team building. and I don't know if there would be anyway to fix it fully. so to my Enforcer brothers I say this -
Stay humble, Realize your there for your teams victory and keep dancing, even without the stars! ;)

    Stay humble :)
Bummer that enforcer gets their lack of stars as well.
Glad you are sticking with the ship you like!
    Keep on dancing

Same with defender. That ship also gets screwed out of stars hardcore. Lucky me plays only defender and enforcer so I basically get no stars. Something really needs to change the way stars are given out.

When i win i often get 2 stars...
Well i use frost/or tesla so control things. Most of enforcer go ob/nitro teslashiel, so no control of opponent just protection for themself (a selfish build) that s why they are not winning 2 star.

That is one way to use the Enforcer, you are right and I can see how with those support things it would be easier to track your team work. On the "selfish build" comment I will add a few of my thoughts.
In my opinion there is no such thing as a "selfish build." There are only "selfish players" It is possible to be a team player with any ship with any build. And it is also possible to be a selfish player with any ship with any build.
With that being said your example of the Enforcer with a shield and overboost using them to protect themselves only would be a great example of a "selfish player." However that same build could be used to benefit the team greatly. A shield can be used to protect teammates with low health, a nitro/overboost can be used to distract enimies and dance around damage so your team can do the damage. And so on...
My original point of the thread is to state that there are some team building actions that are more easily tracked than others . Even things that are very helpful to the team are sometimes overlooked and unnoticed.

I agree with you! As a fixer my damage obviously isn't the best, but my job is to keep the team alive and I think I'm pretty good at it. Hopefully something gets worked out where people, other then shooters, get recognized for their efforts to help the team.

You re true, well when i say selfish build it just because ob/nitro are "passive" you can t count the number of time, you used nitro and give you star for that (even if it helps team) , its easier with tesla/frost
