Cannot receive gift when inventory is full

This bug has probably been around for a while but I rarely had my inventory full until after the guild update.

When my inventory is full, it will not allow me to collect my gift from home and prompts me to buy more slots. This is bugged because my gift from home is pearls, gold and sugar and has nothing to do with inventory.

Please fix this as it is beyond silly

 

The gift itself technically takes up an inventory slot, until the moment it's opened. From what I've heard, it was designed that way to prevent people losing any boxes due to disconnects or some other network silliness.

 

Yup, this is correct what @TheCrisco said. If you lose connection after purchasing but you can't open it before disconnection, you'd lose the box. That's why it is placed into your inventory first as you said
So it is not as silly as you find it now if that would happen to you someday

 

still why is your inventory full, is it not better to have atleast one or two spaces free.

 

Agreed and I usually do. When I am swapping ships my free spaces get used temporarily. But my inventory has been much more full because of the guild update for sure. The answer by @TheCrisco makes sense, although still think it is a little odd.

Problem resolved... for now.

 

I usually either scrap or sell what i get from the guild raffle unless i am sure i need it or can use it. I only save up rare and epic yellow parts while scrapping everything else. i sell most the perks unless i can use them in my weapons as they increase my gold significantly.
