Can someone explain this?

    Can someone explain how I'm not the one who was rewarded 3 stars based on these results compared to the person who did? The new star system is confusing and seems inferior to how it used to be. What is it now based on? Before it was based on winning, team average damage, and significant higher damage than team average.

    The star system isn't new, it was never based on damage alone. Here's some info about it:

    In this specific case, it was probably the fire bomb giving the #1 the higher contribution. There are perks and crew trainings which increase damage of certain weapons against burning targets, so if you set enemies on fire, your allies can do more damage, which gives you contribution.

    Yes, actually it has never based on damage only. It has been the 'contribution'.

    Ah ok, that makes sense. Would be cool if they had an official chart in the in-game options. They could even include tips that are not explained at all like damaging a stunned target canceling the stun. Stuff like that. Maybe even revamp the loading screen to include slides you can move left and right that explain more aspects of the game. It would help reduce the boredom of wait times, plus inform the player base about deeper aspects of the game. It would be especially helpful towards low infamy players.

    I agree with the loading screen tips on stuns etc. But letting people know the secret sauce formula would lead to a HUGE number of people would stop trying to win and just try to acheive whatever criteria will gain them the best rewards. This WILL happen as there is always a wall you hit where you need better gear or ships to progress and people will farm efficiently, rather than fairly for their teams. An unfortunate truth.
