How is the additional damage calculated? On the total damage of the weapon or the base damage of the weapon.

E.g. Blast Cannon with damage of 500 and base damage of 300

    Damage : 500 + (500 × X%)
    Base : 500 + (300 × X%)

I tried to search as I think I have seen a comment somewhere before but had no luck.

    Thanks.

I've asked this question about frost and I was told that it affects the base damage, so I'd assume it's the same

From using all snipers and from what I feel with having +10% to burned enemies from training it effects total damage. I could be wrong though but I'm 90% sure

My explosive cannon has total 715 dmg and deals 1000+ to burning targets. I have +27% from perks and +20% from BHURT.
    715*1.47=1051
So the additional damage is calculated on total canon damage.

I always thought perks added to the base and training added to the total of the weapon.

So if you have a cannon that does 500 damage, but with a base of 300 damage, a +10% to burning target perk would give you +30 damage (10% of 300), whereas training a crew member for +10% to burning targets would yield +50 damage (10% of 500).

I could be completely wrong though!

Frost plus torpedo also has on total damage. 10% more damage to frozen enemies.
