Are you being hit my invisible torpedos?

I'm just generally wondering. I'll be on live feed and I'll say, "did anyone see that torpedo?" and everyone will say no and it's from a dude way in front of me. Not a complaint thread -- an inquiry to see if others are experiencing this or if I'm just drinking too much.

 

This has happened to my few times but I bet that has been a torp hitting a wall near me (still didnt see it coming. Not even by looking to that direction where it was supposed to come.) Anyway I think it has just been a server lag and probably just very rarely seen. Hopefully it doesn't get too common thing, right

It happened to me many times but I was just assuming that It was my fault.

 

No, I'm not sure it is. There have been times the big torpedo has not appeared.

 

I've noticed that sometimes the torp appears to get lost (visually) in a wave, particularly with a high swell. My guess is that was the case, or as mentioned a wall or another ship got hit near by.
