Been playing awhile now and getting to know the game a bit more. It's not too hard to figure strategy in the game however it's getting really frustrating getting matched with guys who constantly put your team in a disadvantage. These guys are the floaters (with exertion of loosing connection) the guys who hang back and just try and morter out of range and of course the " I'm gonna go in and take on the whole team" guys. I'm not one to tell anyone how to play but really think there should be an adjustment to infamy loss. This would be based on individual participation. It's one thing to have a good speeder go in and do damage and hopefully be smart enough to get out to heal ect, the a guy who goes in and gets bombed on and dies within 10 seconds. My point is, it's not fair to those who play smart to loose the full amount of infamy because of others players who do what they do for what ever reason. Please consider this for those who want to advance and not be held back. Put it more into the individual payers

Are you referring to people who are deliberately losing or people who are just bad? If it's the first of these, I think they need to fix the problem rather than put more bandaids on the symptoms. If it's the second, welcome to team activities. If you're actually better you still ought to rise to the top. Your presence, on the average, should raise the performance of your team.

That all being said, below 1200 infamy or so is what I call "the land of flotsam and jetsam" because the random battlefield hazards like tankers and guild questers were so prevalent that winning and losing had more to do with the quirks of the matchmaking system than any individual skill. Sure, skill still mattered but the signal to noise ratio was so bad that I couldn't really think of it as a serious competitive match. I was sort of hoping things would continue to get more sane as I went up past 1500.

I just talking in general. But mostly for those who tank I would guess. I understand your point though. But my situation is that I have been so close to the 3k mark but get on bad streaks ect. I guess it would make sense to adjust the calculations per level. The lower levels would have much more wiggle room. But it's my opinion that a player with 2500-3000 know what he is doing so tanking, or being (stupid) for lack of a better word should be hit with more infamy loss. If a guy wants to tank, it will only help his process more.

Heh, the lower levels don't need more "wiggle room". They need an awful lot less M5's fighting at 200 infamy is what they need. That means fixing the reward structure which encourages players to do that.

Insofar as hitting 3000, I have no direct experience. But I have bumped off the 1300 boundary before. My assessment at the time was that I simply wasn't good enough and/or my boat wasn't strong enough to carry me over that wall... all obstacles included. Put a different way, I was too weak to generate wins myself so it was left up to the rest of the team who, as you say, were not always trying to win. You can see my weak performance when I'm at the top of my infamy because instead of 1-3rd place wins I get 3-5th place. So there I am, already a weak player on the team. If you add a tanker the team is doomed. In my case, the infamy system performed well. I just didn't like the "reward for my successes" LOL.

The easiest way to stop people from tanking for easy guild quests is to put a base multiplier on leagues for quest contribution. Like your damage is multiplied by a certain percentage for guild quests just like rewards get a certain percent better as you move up.

You know, you're almost never gonna see the top of the leaderboard as a mk4 speeder. Some of my best plays out me at 4th and 5th place. As a speeder, your goal should be satisfaction. Were you satisfied with the way you played? Did you get all the high value targets before going down? Those things matter. I don't even look at the leaderboard anymore LOL

In a sense, I agree but the same pattern shows up on my shooter and, if you stopped to think about it, you'd realize it had to. If I'm playing at the top of my game then the absolute best I can deliver is just barely good enough. That is as it should be it's just the reward structure which is jacked up.

Insofar as valuing other stuff, I realized immediately that I have two gun tubes on my speeder and 4 on my shooter. Guess which boat's going to score the high damage numbers LOL. But yes, I'm pretty satisfied with myself if I managed to tie up the enemy fixer and one shooter for most of the match while my team slaughtered everyone else. It may be a one star win but it was what I could do to help that win happen so I did. Again, it just sucks that I'm penalized for doing well.

I remember this from when I accidentally tanked my infamy and you mentioned it in my thread. Still makes me laugh lol.
