Now every MK can drop to 0 infamy, which is a natural minimum.

What if we'd change this number depending on the MK of ships?

    1) for MK1 it wouldn't change a thing, the minimum still would be 0 infamy.
    2) for MK2 it would be 100 infamy.
    3) for MK3 it would be 200 infamy.
    4) for MK4 it would be 500 infamy.
    5) for MK5 it would be 1000 infamy.
    6) for MK6 it would be 2000 infamy.
    7) for MK7 it would be 3000 infamy.

Numbers can be changed, I made them up quickly. The idea is what is important.
I think it could clear the sub 1000 infamy place, so beginning players would actually enjoy this game and not get crushed by MK6 at 200 infamy.

    What do you think?

Yep, there is a problem for sure.
On my baby account 600 infamy MK2, we had a player with a MK5 speeder, Level 35 captain, with a T4 Epic Carronade.
That match wasnt fun at all :)

It's a simple concept that could work. If an honest player is at mk5 with 200 infamy, you could only conclude that he either sucks beyond belief or the system needs some kind of adjustment. Anyone at mk5 should be strong enough to obliterate 5 200 infamy players without even breaking a sweat (as long as they're not other mk5s or if they're carrying legendaries)

Exactly my point. Why should those poor MK1s and MK2s be getting matched with those kinds of players?

I've seen players at my level (37ish) at 100 infamy, but they still end up in the same matches as me, so I can't confirm if they're finding a way to play with beginners or not. This thread doesn't really affect me personally but the idea of strong players against true beginners is unsettling.

This is why your now seeing posts telling people to not upgrade their boats until they are ready. As they could be quite high in infamy against similar ships but when you upgrade to the next mk all of a sudden the ships in your infamy have bigger weapons and more health. So if your gear isn’t up to it you will drop a lot of infamy till it rebalances.
