Why am I in the #1 spot with the weakest vessel on our team?

So you're upset that with a Mk1 and simple gear, you're considered by the infamy system to be a more skilled player than others at Mk4?

    I'm puzzled.

Edit: Upon reviewing your other thread as well, I see the problem. It's not that he's ranked highly, it's that he's getting tossed into matches with guys sporting evolved Epic weapons. Those will blow up a Mk1 in one shot.

    You're just good. :)
To match with other mk1s at that infamy would drastically expand queue time.

I leveled up quickly because of the ease of this game. I got pentakill after pentakill in the first few hours of playing. My very first game I had a pentakill.

But now it's no longer fun to me. I get one shotted by a powered up rare sniper. I'm currently at lvl 9 with too slow of a grind to get to lvl 10. I can't upgrade fast enough to keep up with all the other MK4 ships. This is insanity.

I wrote a 1* review and uninstalled the game. It's going to stay like that until they fix their matchmaking.

The first several games you play are against bots. That's why it was so easy.

Well, that's a shame. There's a good game in here if you'll give it a chance.

What's fun for you is fun for you and who can say otherwise? For myself I like the challenge. I am constantly the little M2 guppy in a bay of M4 sharks with weapons I can only dream about. I figure it's how I get better. I've certainly learned a lot about how to coordinate with a mostly silent team and how to NOT "Leroy Jenkins" the battle. Being killable in 2 hits encourages that :)

I dont see anything wrong here except the presence of fixer. Matchmaking is improved at lower level of the game. Thank you dev. But you might need to fix the system on the higher level. :)

I thought I should update this. I no longer feel the same way. I've come to understand that the infamy & matchmaking system will screw me over royally if I let it. Sure, I like playing the spunky little guppy. But as it just got more and more ridiculous. I was fighting M6 boats at M3... routinely. Even worse, it wasn't going to get better at some point. Now I "manage" my infamy to keep the matches in some loosely rational range.

In order to get better I need to be playing players that are better than me but they cannot be astronomically better either in gear or skill or the learning curve breaks down. A mentor said to me a long time ago, "Throwing someone into the pool 6 inches over their head is teaching them to swim. Throwing them in 6 feet over their head is just drowning them." That wisdom applies here.
