so my career high infamy is around 2800... and around Nov 1 I dropped a LOT. Like to 1500 or so. It was very frustrating to keep losing match after match no matter what I did... but then on Nov 4 I stopped receiving battle rewards. I’ve climbed back to 2k but I’m still not getting anything, and I feel like I was unfairly penalized in the first place. I don’t lose on purpose, not one game. And now that my infamy is low I don’t see why anyone would do it on purpose. It’s embarrassing and not fun. But the zero progress thing is insult to injury. I can’t train crew and I’ve lost SO many green boxes it’s cray cray. First time ever,I missed my daily rewards and weekly quests. Im rapidly losing my love for this game, since my minuscule progress has been halted. So can anyone please tell me how much farther I have to climb before I’m “allowed” to progress again? I am sure the answer to ‘can I have my stars back.’ Would be no but can I at least start getting resources so I can train my crew?

You are classified as an infamy tanker if you lose more than 800 infamy than your highest infamy achieved.
And once you are classified as an infamy tanker by game algo you stop receiving rewards until you climb back up.
So in your case you have to be atleast above 2000 infamy to start gaining rewards.
    Good luck in climbing back.
Also @The Grim Repair can devs release a notification in game explaining this infamy tanking issue as lot of people don't know how it works

This system of penalizing players for dropping 800 inf ruins the game if you get caught in it. I have a similar problem to OP and have not been able to get back to rewards for over 1 month. I did not tank - just got caught in a winning streak that took me way higher than I should be. Then, as happens, the losing streak came and I am back at what I should probably play at. But now, because I can't get rewards, it takes forever to upgrade weapons - and upgrading ships is basically out of the question. I am still matched against the same players that are 800-1000 inf higher than me so I am at a huge competitive disadvantage. Also, I can't afford to work on some guild quests because I can't afford to risk losing because I am using an under developed ship/weapon (and I can't upgrade those weapons/ships because I'm not getting gold rewards to buy parts or sugar rewards to pay for the upgrades).
From a business stand point this doesn't make sense for Rovio in my opinion. Since I'm not getting my rewards my subscription is cancelled. Kind of pointless when the main benefit is the extra rewards. I'm assuming anyone else who pays for the subscription and stuck in this trap would do the same. Probably a drop in the bucket I guess, but with a freemium game you think it would be designed to encourage renewals.

Yes I’ll forward the suggestion in general. :)

I also understand the concerns with infamy dropping - so we will see if something can be done.

With every rule that punishes to some degree it also protects other players - sometimes it’s not ideal. Might not consolidate those who genuinely got bad luck. Totally get the frustration here though.

This rule has become a menace, since we know a lot of forum members have been suffering huge lose streaks. Most of them are genuine players(not all).

I suggest if anyone reports in game or in forums about lost rewards,His battle log should be thoroughly examined.Dmg done/Heals done in last 10-15 battles can clearly demarcate if a person is seal clubber or no.Rewards of genuine players should be reesablished

Its actually not difficult to hit a bad losing streak. I've done it. I was close to that borderline where you are officially considered an infamy tanker and punished for it. I have consistently played in Master II, and am slowly coming back from a 600 point crash.

It would be helpful if the account activity/game logs were reviewed first to see if the player legitimately attempted to play and win, and if he or she just hit a streak of bad luck/bad teammates, rather than automatically penalize someone. Of course if someone is just floating or is a suicide player, than yes, strip them of rewards. But when you're consistently among the top two to three players on your team, and still losing, should you lose rewards even though you're trying but simply can't carry a team? Of course in some cases, some players simply got lucky on a nice win streak and were carried by teammates, and their high is not really indicative of how good they are. So when they fall back down to their normal playing range, should they be penalized for that?

I've had twelve straight losses and remember thinking, "That's it, I'm done for." It's scary how bad a rule to prevent dropping can get if you're a genuine player at the turbulent regions of Ace 3-Ace 1, and early nightmare.

But do you “totally get” that you are insulting and offending your players? The skewed matchmaking is bad enough but just like the patches the mistakes are all on your side and the burden is all placed on us. Is as if you caught a speeder and found out he robbed a liquor store... so now every person who speeds automatically gets charged with bank robbery just in case.

Your toxic attitude towards your own players has caused so many of my friends to quit this game that I barely log on anymore. You ACCIDENTALLY made this game fun for like, a week... and when you realized that free players were having fun too, you freaked out and rolled everyone back. I hope you enjoyed the refund glut... I’m just very disappointed that you don’t want to learn from your mistakes, clearly have no interest in improving the game... only in tightening your control.

And I don’t need you to consolidate or console me... I was just hoping (stupid I know) to hear that you will end this ridiculous practice because it is wrong, and you were wrong to implement it. But I’m sure a plan is already in place to make us all regret your mistakes. Again.

I’m closing this now - not deleting, but closing.

There are people who play games for years, with many different experiences, learning curves and attitudes. I’ve played video games - competitive and casual pretty much all my life. I’m no stranger to gaming community in general from the pure player experience to actually being part to create what I love.

The game team for Battle Bay has a passion and commitment for the community that is special and not something to take for granted.

The main reason is - because they are - you are - we are THE community.

We treat each other with respect and we listen and we learn and improve.

I am closing this thread because there’s no tolerance for disrespectful and defamatory behavior.

No one says things are flawless, big changes need time, and in time things improve, change and grow. And for that we do need all of you - because we all contribute to a game we enjoy and want to see get better and better.

    Captain’s log,
    over and out.
