Infamy system - does it need to change?

    I'm still a Battle Bay newbie so perhaps I am missing something. If I am, please correct me :)

    I've been attempting to get to the top of my league for a number of days now. I feel very let down when I get teamed up with 4 players who are terrible. I'll sometimes find myself in a 5 v 1 situation very quickly and there's not a lot I can do about that. As a result, I'll lose 24 infamy which I find pretty infuriating! I'm not saying that I'm great at the game. Sometimes, I do get carried and other times I'm the first in my team to go out but I wonder if the Infamy system could be tweaked?

    My suggestion would be to take the total infamy lost per team (120) and distribute it according to damage inflicted by the player on the losing team:
    1. Player who dished out most damage - Loses 0 infamy
    2. Players 2 and 3 - Lose 20 infamy
    3. Players 4 and 5 - Lose 40 infamy

    Similarly, in a team which wins, instead of distributing infamy evenly, distribute it according to damage inflicted on the other team:
    1. Player who dished out most damage - Gains 40 infamy
    2. Players 2 and 3 - Gains 30 infamy
    3. Players 4 and 5 - Gains 10 infamy

    The infamy problem has been discussed pretty heavily in the forums...

    But aside from that, you've got a valid point IF infamy was based solely on damage dealt. Unfortunately, there are other factors that play into it. Infamy is strictly for matchmaking and season ranks. The things that separates the players is the stars.
    Now, along with healing, stuns, freezing, etc...they all play a factor. The game is trying to reward everyone evenly and allowing the "stars" to show who contributed the most to the least. If you get carried, yes, you'll get 1 star and infamy, but that's it. the people who get "carried" will eventually fall back to their respective ranks.

    That's a fair point. To be honest, I hadn't considered the other skills used in battle (healing, freezing etc...). I guess if they factored all of that in to their final team rankings, then there would be an argument for awarding (or deducting) different amounts of infamy.

    I guess my thread is born out of frustration more than anything! When I get knocked down to 2nd in the season rankings because 4 of my team mates get killed within the first few seconds, I get pretty mad! :D

    I think that everyone in the game feels your pain...so let it out man!!

    But yeah, here's how you look at it. It happened, right? Can you change it? No. Can you fleet up or jump into another match? Yes. Then do it. Make the most of what is in front of you and what you can control. Guess what, you can't control your teammates. You can guide them. You can back them up. You can leave them hanging. Only you change how you see the finished match and next match.

    Change your perspective and your perspective will change.

    As mentioned in the second comment healing and other factors should be taking into consideration since a fixer job is to repair ships and not damaging or defender for a bit of a shield etc.. But ı strongly agree that the infamy system should be changed. Like really. Just change it to this or a similar one until a better one done.

    What he said...it's all relative.

    I've mentioned this before in another post...but should Tom Brady get 5 Super Bowl rings because was the QB who came back? Should the 3rd string guy who never played a minute of the game not get one because he didn't play? No, everyone gets "1" because they won as a team. The stars are the algorithmic calculations that they've set in place to regulate who was the "best" that game. But just be happy with a win don't fret the losses.
