Hi ! how are the 5 alliances of our guild rivalry group chosen? by infamy, trophy or other?

no, infamy based only...

 

My guild is ranked 300th in global and one of our rival guilds is ranked 55th and another 170th ( although they were 62nd but half the guild has left since quests board started ) Global ranking goes on entire guilds infamy so if rivalries are infamy based only, why are we up against these 2?

 

And here’s the proof.

 

May be some people left from your guild. when Quests reset, else so many may lost infamy...now guild ranks are updated daily according to total infamy....at that moment your rank was in top, later some of them left. so ur rank down,
what ever the infamy, all over ur guild will be counted., once quest started even your guild infamy down u will be with same team till your next quest rest.
When next quest started then you get ranks near to your guild rank.

 

It is matched according quests done in previous rivalry season. Like if you get 40 quests done, you'll get about 40 quest done guilds against you. (I don't know the scale there but you get the point)
First rivalry after patch was according infamy but after that it started to match guild based on amount of quests done.

It is not infamy because if it was then there would not be an exploit and rivalry rule change. The rivalry rule change happened to prevent guilds from disbanding and then starting a new one, which apparently would set them up against other new guilds, NOT guild that have similar infamy.

My concern is what happens 1 month down the road, we are going to be facing very similar guilds and we will stop getting 1st place and get last place every time. Not looking forward to that. It should have some randomness in it and not just be infamy based. Otherwise it will lose its charm quick.

 

It is by total infamy. If you look at the rivalry tab at the beginning of the season, every team is around the same infamy - at least for me.

I still think that's unfair because 16 3000-infamy players will outperform 24 2000-infamy players.

 

You seem to be right that infamy is involved. I just checked mine. Not sure why the crazy rivalry rule change then. I misunderstood that.

 

It doesn't seem to be infamy based, as of this rivalry. We are #40 global and we are against a 18, 36, 23, 43, and a 227. And we have been around the same place globally for a few weeks now

 

Something else I noticed people doing is they will have like 5 nightmare league players, and then a significant drop in infamy with #25 with 200 infamy.

 

Thank you for this @Miika . People can have more constructive suggestions when they know exactly the issue that is being dealt with! There is so much under the hood that players try to guess at.

Perhaps having the boards be dynamic would be a solution. The more infamy your guild gains the harder they become (simple multiplier maybe?). The issue you raise can even be a problem with mid level guilds going from 20 to 25 players in a rivalry session.

 

I think it's "what is the best solution for the moment' kind of thing. Those 5 would not be able to collect so that prevents guild hopping.

The rivalry is a new thing so it will be refine over time.

My alternate’s guild was up in rivalry against Ghost Shippers. No wonder why the 9th guild in leaderboards was against us. We came 2nd though.

 

Definately no based off infamy or something is broke.... 53k to 23k sounds fair.

 

We’re in top 25 on the guild ranking, one of our rivals this season is ranked at 57134. Another rival is at 22664.

So no, it’s not inf based.
