Is Speeder even good??

I've been using Defender for awhile and love it but I started goofing off and bought some weapons and items for the speeder and played it for one match...I got absolutely destroyed in 2 secs

 

It is really good but takes a lot of skill if you played defender you wouldn't be used to the crazy high speed.

 

Well it seems fun and I do like the speed, I might consider using it. Do you have any tips??

 

If speeder MK2, fleet up with a good Shooter since you have 1 weapon. Don't get too close to enemies, try to make them shoot at you and miss. Don't drive in a linear line, drive in a horizontal line instead so it's hard for them to aim with Cannon. Always keep moving.
At MK3/4 same tactic, but you'll have 2 weapons so you can do some good damage instead. But don't try to play like Shooter. Since you are really fast, you can go around and flank them or take out a low HP enemy who is out of your allie's range. But remember, don't get too close to enemies they'll sink you really quick.
You can try out Nitro and Overboost or Overboost and Tesla Shield combo. I personally like Tesla Shield one.
Anyway, remember you'll most probably won't do much damage. You should play Shooter if you want to do most damage.

 

I love speeder! Just got mk3. Exactly as Razerx described, use a hit and run strategy. Runnin and Gunnin! Never stop moving! Watch as cannon rounds whip by your ship unable to touch you. Never run directly at an enemy or group of enemies, though. Zig zag and watch out for ships that are moving parallel to you as well. Also be careful about running into a wall as you are tracking a target and don't realize you've run out of room. Overboost and nitro with a turbo makes a speeder pretty hard to hit and make for a quick retreat if you find yourself surrounded. Race back to your fixer and then back into the fray. Just be prepared for sore thumbs since you never stop moving. Speeder is a bit stressful as you are constantly in danger of being sunk by a bad move on your part but man is it fun. And although I'm not usually the top damage dealer, I stay alive through most of the match so I'm usually top 3 as he who stays alive the longest does the most damage.

It's really good just takes time to learn and there are so many different ways to play it! I would say just keep practicing.
I myslef like to be very fast out in the open and draw enemy fire for my team and scout gun and run all the way

Eqip a longer range item and focus on scouting or quick respond backup.

Speeders are so annoying when they are the last ship on the enemy team, and they just keep speeding off and healing back up with bandages. I've had so many ties just because I'm in a 1v1, 2v1, or even 3v1 and the speeder is the last one alive. Because of the shit capture system, the speeder can just run off, peek back to hit you once, then run off again, preventing your team from ever capturing.

 

Speeder is great, but takes an entirely different strategy and style than a shooter or defender. Much harder to be honest, but potentially more powerful in the right hands. They can be the assassins with their speed and hard hitting weapons, the distractions and disrupters by circling around and diving into the middle of a pack, or the supporters of the team with nerfing stuns and frosts and blocking mortars with tesla shield.

It takes a lot of experience though to manage the speed well and to know when yo use it and when not to. You have to know where your team is, and stay with them or else you will find yourself separated very quickly and at the bottom of the bay in a flaming wreck.

The speeder, which blazes around the sea, peppering shots here and there, and dodging everything? Or the slow, tanky, defender which trades off damage and relies on its tankiness to win the battle? Never main two completely different ships; you will have to adapt to both playstyles making it harder to excel at both. As for your build, since you are mk 1, use your highest level cannon, an overboost, and a turbo. For mk2 I recommend your highest level cannon, an over boost, a nitro/tesla stun and of course turbo.
