I would say maybe a sniper cannon or a railgun. Fixers are usually in the back line so long range weapons help alot

Anything with a long cooldown, because you should be spending most of your time healing rather than shooting.

    Good choices:

Sniper Cannon - Hide in the back ranks and rain down massive crits.
Railgun - Much worse up close, but you'll ruin someone's day when you connect.
Firebomb/Napalm - You're a support ship, so set people on fire and deny areas to the enemy. (Also, you'll actually earn stars.)

    Situational choices:

Torpedos - If you hit, they're good. Miss, they're not.
Explosive/Blast Cannon - Shorter range than the Sniper/Railgun, but great at convincing charging Speeders to think twice.
Mines - If you get good with placement, you can take a massive chunk out of someone's life, but will do nothing in a 1v1 or against a Speeder.

    Poor choices:

Cannon - No. Just no. Short range, low damage, rapid cooldown - none of these are a match for a Fixer.
    Mortars - You aren't a Shooter.

Once you get to Mk6 and get two weapon slots, you can start to run things that compensate for each other - @Waveblower runs Missiles and Carronade, neither of which are on my list above because individually they're weak. Put them together though, and you can handle yourself at close and mid-to-long-range.

I just played a match last night with a Mk4 fixer who had a T4 Rare Firebomb. I did 17K damage as a Mk5 Shooter, he did 12K damage with just that one weapon. If you have a high level Firebomb, this is a great support weapon.

I agree, Canon can be a nice choice for a single weapon because of its reload time. Also it can deal out more damage over time than any other Canon, and its range and projectile speed are second only to Sniper.

I use blast cannon, simply because of its beastly single shot attack. Any flanking speeder will fear a single accurate shot from a fixer dealing 600+ damage. It's all a question of fire speed versus one shot damage.

Hey, you beat me to it! The blast cannon is this games' colt .44. Truly devastating.

Sniper sucks as high level fixer weapon, and I say that because I'm stuck with it. The damage is too random, and you mostly will do only a few shots per round as fixer. If those don't crit, you may as well not have shot at all, and even with high level Bhurt and 3 rare sniper crit perks, 70% of the time you don't crit. Which results in doing 300-400 damage against a 6k HP ship. That's not even relevant. Much better to pick blast, explosive or railgun. Make those few shots count, reliably.

I am 2500 infamy fixer (no other ships). Yes. You do great damage with firebomb but... what's about if a speeder rush you? You became useles. What's about if there is there is a roof or cave? Useles. If you hide in a wall flankers can hit you and speeders can torp the walk that you use as cover. In 3 shoots you are down. For me best defense is MOVE FAST. I go at 1.46 speed and great overboost. I rush enemies, spot them, and drop them big torpedo. Then I come back with overboost and enemies trying to hit me they expose to all unspotted allies and lose organization. I heal allies and I rush enemies back. Just with luck they can hit me and as more they try faster they die. I use to do 3000-7000 damage with.m big torpedo blue lvl 20. But my best rounds I didn't need to make much damage, just permanently trapping enemies, Attracting fire and dispersing them
