Mortar radius damages

Between the 4 mortars(LongRange, Big Berta, Ballpark, Standard)
It seems like the % of damage extending to the edges of the radius are different for each mortar.
Sometimes I will be at the very tip of the red radius and take 400 HP damage, and other times at the SAME spot I only take like 10 damage.
Does anyone know which mortar gives the best damage to the outer edges of the radius? and the worst also?
Also, I've noticed sometimes when people get hit by a single mortar, they will get 2 or 3 damages. One for like 500 HP and then a couple of 40 or 50 HP damages. Are the smaller numbers considered splash damage in addition to the actual projectile damage? Which mortars do the splash damage too?
Not sure if the developers have ever explained the differences, couldn't find anything on the forum search.

 

The red ring is NOT the area of the dmg. It is an approximation. Sometimes, the projectile will just so miss a wave (and the red ring) and land on the outer circles, dealing more/less dmg.

 

That big berta will deal 400 damage even if it whisks pass you, scary. Whenever I see red ring I run like hell doesn't matter which one it is standard, ballpark, long range or that badass big berta just run.

 

All mortars deal lesser amount of damage when you’re further away from the center. Big Berta has high damage so even you’re near the edges of the red ring it can still deal a decent amount of damage to you.

Mortars deal 30% more damage if a target gets hit directly (being in the centre of the red ring), provided the crew talent is activated. The second damage that you see is the 30% extra damage.
