So, how exactly do you 'carry' a team?

I took a pretty big dive in infamy today. Some of the games I played badly. But, some of them, I think I played quite well... yet still lost.

    Here is an example:
    IMG_0464.PNG

Now, I don't want to be all like: "I got top damage, it was my team's fault". But it's pretty sad when you've got all those shooters, and my crappy speeder is the top damage dealer.

And it's not like I was hanging back letting them die, or spreading damage around thinly. I was right in the middle of the fight, killing people.

So what else can I do to win? I definitely don't have the gear to kill all 5 unfriends on my own (at least not consistently). In fact, I can barely bring down one shooter on my own, usually.

So how exactly do you 'carry' a team? If you're the lowest infamy team member, and you don't have all the best gear, what can you do to make sure your teammates survive, and hold up thier end?

The way you think is really good. Sad part is not everyone on your team was thinking the same way. Imo you can focus on upgrading your gear. Carrying a team is possible only when the team understands your strategy and supports you. In battles follow the highest infamy player or the biggest group. Or as @Shadow Moon! suggested, you can try with other ships and climb up the infamy. After that you can go back to playing speeder.:)

Assist the defender, going more support than assault...
And 90% of people will not follow a speeder, his move are too chaotic and speed for other boat.

May I ask what is ur captain lvl?
I have a friend who is at cap lvl 22 and he plays a Mk4 speeder he has quite a few battle under his belt but the way he plays speeder is quite interesting ( his setup is blast canon grenade turbo bandage and double ob all rare and he stays around 900 infamy ).he is usually among top 2 damagers on the team. His playstyle is quite like a fixer what he does is he has a great sense of vision about what's going on the map and he sees where his help is needed he runs off to that place using ob does dmg and then runs off again to help another boat I think this playstyle is great way to carry the team. Hope this helps you. Play speeder like a fixer till u r above 1500 infamy provide help in dmg wherever needed.

My captain level is 23 (I just got to 23 this morning). My highest infamy is 1036, and I've also been hovering around 900 (give or take).

I got matched with @JustPlainSowad today, and did terribly, 1300 dmg and a couple blocked mortars with my tesla shield. He did 9000+ and we still lost. But it was close...
If you are a ship that depends heavaly on your team, then there is no way to "carry" your team (except stun/freeze). However some shooters/speeders with the right setup can carry, by winning a 3 on 1. Usually to carry you need high damage, (non-mortar) weapons and or tesla bolt...

2 kills is hardly carrying a team. I call that "participating"...

Your best bet is to fleet with a stronger player.

If you think you have to "carry your team" to rise in infamy you're wrong. Sure, it'll work, but I doubt you can do that every game. Just be sure to consistently play well and eventually your infamy will rise. If you are playing well then let's say you have a 55-60% chance to win, (meaning even if u play above average you're still not gonna win em all). Over time that 55-60% win chance will balance out, along with a rise in infamy. So just keep playing solid and you'll get up, no need to stress about "carrying your team" as that usually leads to early deaths.

    Yep!
The answer to the question, how you "carry" a team, is going to battle expecting to do all the dmg and sink all 5 unfriends. :)
But take what @Ian92999 said, no need to carry your team , work with them and be consistently good! Results will show :)

Yes absolutely, I was not suggesting I carried the team (especially since we lost lol).

Two kills and 2k damage isn't even an especially good performance, but I felt like it was about the best I could manage, under the circumstances.

Fleeting is actually a really good idea. Though, as a speeder, I'm not 100% on who I should be fleeting with? I don't get much love from fixers, as they're not very mobile, and I don't have enough hp to sit and tank with a fixer behind me.

I haven't had much luck working with other speeders (not sure why).

I defenetly like have a good line of shooters, that can deliver lots of point damage. As it gives me plenty of cover, and targets that I can mop up. But I'm not sure how much they really need me...

Overall there is so much more to carrying than just dishing out raw damage. It's the sum of all the strategic and tactical choices you make during the battle.

For example, you see 2 enemies, one having 5000hp and the other having 50hp. You have a 2000 dmg railgun primed and ready to shoot with clear sight to both. Which one do you shoot? Shooting the 5000hp ship gives you way more damage but you just left the most dangerous enemy alive who next kills your teammate. Alternative, you shoot the low hp player but there would have been others available to shoot him also, and you missed the opportunity to weaken their high hp player significantly and potentially throwing him off his game. There is no right answer and it completely varies by situation, and that is the skill to know that to do in every situation.

When to be aggressive, when to retreat, when to flank, or bait the enemy. When to go after their lowest player, or keep their top dog busy. None of those are visible in the damage number but they have a tremendous effect on your ability to influence your teams chances of winning. And those are something that is extremely hard to quantify as a number, it's just the "magic" that some players have.
