As a person who has no problem spending money on games, I find Battle Bay to be generally terrible with "biggest bang for your buck" as compared to other games. That's primarily because I don't know what I'm getting when I spend money.

I could buy pearls to open an Epic crate and get nothing that I actually need. That's a huge disencentive for me to spend money on this game.

I don't find it overly P2W (since you're going to win about 50% of the time no matter what you do - Hi, Miika!), but I do find it generally pointless to spend money just to win the same as if I spent no money.

With that being said, I would be far more apt to spend money if I knew what I was actually getting with it. If I could say spend another $10 each time I combined 10 pieces, etc. to pick the exact item I wanted, I would have no problem spending the $100 or so it would cost to finally get the duplicates I need.

I feel Rovio could make a killing implementing a system like this.

    Thoughts?

Wow! Lets make it so the whales have a even bigger advantage versus f2p's! Brilliant idea! (SARCASM)

Agree it would be a step too far to get the exact one you need, but the completely random BS thats here now has to be improved. Main reason game is dying.

They already spend the money to get the legendaries they want, and F2P players generally can't compete way up at that level anyway (and if they can, it would take years now to get there anyway), so why not incentive the non-whales to spend money as well?

I can compete with a legendary player if I actually have the epic items I want.

What if it only applied to rare and epic items? Or you could only do it a limited number of times? There are likely ways to make it work.

If you could choose the item piece color you got for spending money would be a step up enough to get me spending a bit. But exact item is a bit too far.

We should just be able to "like" items and have double the chance to get that item. This would help motivate people but not be too op

Or add the ability to purchase 1 duplicate pr month from the item shop. Just 1 item in total, not much but it would guarantee a feeling of progress (and require 3k pearls a month).

I like this idea, too. Also, I would like ALL items to be available in the shop.

I'm trying to build up an enforcer, but it will take me a year to get enough items to make it a viable change.

I'd just like the ability to purchase a duplicate once

I like the way it is set up now, for a selfish reason :)
im not going to spend money on this game, period.
So if it became easier for casual spenders (pearl divers, weekly specials, etc) to get epics that they wanted, they would def rise to battle the whales
However, now it is more of a divide between whales and casual spenders/ftp.
I feel like there current system makes it not worth it for casual spenders (light wallet is it?) except for VIP which the 50% rewards for each game is awesome.
So im good with the game making it possible for ftp folk to make out well in infamy and feel like they have a chance against big spenders :D

Like most mobile game devs Rovio have done the math and worked out you earn a lot more money running a casino than a general store.

I disagree in that assessment of the game, but I understand the point.

The absolute best games I play are a good balance of F2P and P2W.

This is the only game I've played where it would literally cost me tens of thousands of dollars to get a max setup. That's blatantly absurd.

In most other games I play, you can max out a hanger in a year or so with moderate or minimal spending. This game is the complete opposite.

I love this game but the store system is the most frustrating thing I've ever seen ... you can spend 500 euros and receive something that does not interest you at all. And for players who spend little is simply impossible to advance. Also bearing in mind that there is also no fleet system to request weapons and improve them over time. Seeing that you will not advance in other weapons even if you spend a lot or a little, is certainly a reason for people to stop playing.
It is good to be difficult and long (even expensive) but this is excessive ... spend and spend and give you a legendary yellow that you have nowhere to use it, and you can not change it for anything ... just scrap for more pieces to give you again another piece of that color that you do not use. So a lot of money straight to the trash.
Hope devs have in consideration give the chance to change this kind of itmes for some you can use. Thanks.

You guys want a system where not just whales but casual spenders can actuslly gain a lot from.

Did it ever occur to you guys that if it was made that easy for casual spenders as well then the ftps are royally screwed?. That's it, we are done, might as well uninstall.

The game shouldn't just be a balance of whales and casual spenders. It should find and function at a balance of ftps and ptps. The system right now is in such a manner as to keep all sections of the gamers happy. Not simply whales, casual spenders OR ftps.

Not everybody can afford to spend any money on a game, think about all the poor kids and 10 year olds. I think we can surely agree that the game has more ftps and than casual spenders so naturally the game must satisfy the ftps.

Whales are not a problem for people like us anyways considering that by the time we will face them we'll be capable of beating them.

The point is this game would, I think, make more money over the long run if they make spending a little bit of money (>$100) worthwhile. I have no problem spending that much, but have no real incentive to do so.

Players who want to spend no money (or simply can't) can still grind their way to a comfortable range. They will never make it to the top, but neither will anyone who doesn't spend thousands of dollars or grind it out for years. Rovio's goal should be to maximize profits and keep the game sustainable for as long as possible.

Players like me who have disposable income and have no qualms about spending $100 on a game are sitting here waiting for a reason to actually spend money.

But as it stands now, it will take me a year+ just to build up Epic items to be of equal stats to my rare items. I can tell you I will get bored of this game far before I actually get the items I want or need (since the whole fun of the game is upgrading and progressing, which is about to stop for me with maxed rares).

If I could spend money to guarantee I could speed that up, I would. But spending money isn't a guarantee of anything, which has removed all incentive for me to spend.

Exactly, and look, im not here trying to rub my salt all in your eyes. Im here because the fundamentals (mobo ship combat) of this game are awesome, the engine is awesome, the gameplay is awesome but..

***Progression sucks for anyone who isnt a whale or had access to pre global

***Matchmaking is completely broken in ace1, evidenced by the fact that thier own seal clubbing rules (+-800 inf) are broken in pretty much every matchup past 3500

    And

***league rewards need work. As spending and battling to get to the top of the ace 1 infamy range 3850, max is 4k, to recieve, wait for it.. 1 epic piece and 30 epic parts is (lots of expletives removed) a disgrace for all that effort and 2 weeks wait.

And what really gets my goat is that all of this is solvable. They just dont want to fix it, for fear of upsetting whales and/or the money men at rovio.

To the rovio dev team, i say grow some balls and go make the changes for the majority, not the 0.00001%ers.

If you really wanna make a statement to their face, I advice tagging them, helps increase your chance of them noticing you, most probably will still ignore or give you some lame reasoning not to do it anyways.

Can't remember the last time Miika answered a question I threw at him, sad stuff.
