Hey Everyone! Right now, I'm playing as a fixer mk1 and I'm really enjoying this support role. ☺ Moreover this role has gotten me from 200 infamy to 500 infamy. And im wondering if there are tips for me to stay alive xD. My build is a level 7 rare cannon, level 10 uncommon repair pulse, and level 13 uncommon turbo.

The big problem is that as soon as I get vulnerable at any moment. I get ripped to shreds by a shooter or defender. Thanks to the turbo, I can dodge projectiles, but I can't dodge every projectile. And even though I try to hide behind my teammates. Certain enemies seem to specifically target me. All I want are tips to staying alive so I can heal my teammates and increase everyone's lifespan in battle. And thanks to anyone who responds ;D

Mk4 fixer here. In general, stay behind your shooters. Stay with your shooters, but not too close. Don't go off on your own, but don't follow speeders. At mk1+2 pulse only. At mk3+4 add box or bolt. Your weapon, until you get good at aiming, should be a cannon of some sort. When you get a yellow slot, until you find your style, use overboost. Blue slot is for armor. When you have more health later then you can thing about speed. Use "Together" to try to tell people to regroup. Your infamy will reflect your dodging and healing skills. That's about it. If you have any questions please feel free to ask:)

Thanks for the reply. I try to stay in the middle of the group and get everyone to stay together. But some shooters like to go out on their own. I normally stay with the group and leave the lone shooter. But sometimes 1 shooter goes off and another follows while the other 2 either stay or go off somewhere else. And I find myself going back and forth to each group and die when I'm vulnerable. OR I stick with one group, the enemy easily picks off the stray shooter and his friend and then they finish us off. I mean what should I do in those situations... I encounter them quite often xD

This will be less of a problem when you can use overboost, but for now, stay with the group most likely to survive and use "Together" at a moderate pace until they get the idea. You could also try moving your group since shooters usually like to stay around the fixer. But I promise, things will get better the higher you go. Sure there may be that one, but it's rare and they usually get the idea after a few "Together"s

Also, changing your turbo to a shield wouldn't hurt

Enemies will target you, everyone goes for the fixer first if possible. So try to make it impossible and stay behind your team. Be aware of the map and the enemies, they will try to flank you and you might soon encounter speeders trying to kill exclusively you from the backlines. There is no magic trick to stay alive, I think map awareness is very important to play this class properly.

Thanks! I'll definitely keep these in mind. So basically keep myself alive by sticking with heavy hp shooters or defenders. Stay out of the line of fire and pay attention to the minimap and where the enemy is.

Strongly disagree! Speed will keep you alive better than any shield ever could!

Reading all the fixer topics here will do wonders. And you created one, so good start.

Also, learn strats to stay alive with speed and cover. It is okay to bob in and out, back off or flee. You melt easily. Give yourself a few seconds to recover and get back into the battle. Dead fixers are pointless. Understanding weapon range, speed, and where you can find cover in maps is important for this. Let your teammates peak and shoot around a rock; you can heal when they come back or zip out for a quick heal and return. With bolt and box you can range heal.

In my experience, shield at low levels is better because of level of experience. If you are good a dodging and running, then use turbo. I advised shield because when you're not good at dodging, tanking the hit better would do. Another thing is the percentage boost of turbo verses the flat boost the shield provides. But more importantly at low infamy is the rarity of the items. If you have something that is exceptionally rare, then you may want to use that, assuming you are adept at it. Ya know, just use the turbo as there is a high amount of mortars early game.

You have received lots of good advises already, and I agree with the others: stay in a group and try to hide behind defenders, shooters, rocks or whatever as much as possible. That's the only way to survive when the others are much stronger. That's also what I have been doing for a long time and still learning how should I do it.

Also keep in mind that if you are good you will hit your infamy cap sooner or later. It's the point you can't pass without getting better items. It's hard to fight with a mk1 ship and uncommon level 10 items against mk4s with level 20-30 rares and epics. You need patience when upgrading your ship and items, and you need patience to be a fixer (because your job is to keep the others alive and hope they do their job). I wish you luck with the fixer, I have enjoyed fixing since I first time gave it a try. See you at the bay one day!

I also say turbo before shield. I run mk4 fixer and have 2 turbos and no shield, works for my playstyle and infamy range. Everyone targets me anyway so I like to be able to dodge and run.
