Grenade

    Tell me what's wrong with her? The grenade hit the exact same body, why is the damage so small? The grenade was 41 epic levels, and an event bonus, which should end up with about 1,700 damage! This bug annoys me, more than once I saw this and watched replays carefully, everywhere the same thing ...

    What you see client side isn't always the same as the server sees (because of latency, etc).
    On the server that grenade probably missed the boat, and hit the water a little bit behind it - giving only splash damage.

    The client shows where it thinks the shot hit - and in this case renders the effect for a direct hit. This isn't always correct, a millisecond difference timing can give an entirely different shot (because of ship movement, waves, etc). The server tries to compensate for latency effects, but it's not perfect - so we get situations like this.

    We looked from all sides, everywhere the same will happen. I had such a rare case when the grenade did not reach the goal, because another ship caught a grenade in the air on a high wave, and the damage on it came very small, it is almost impossible to repeat ...

    For some reason, it seems to me that if a grenade hits the ship's hull exactly, the damage will be incomplete, and if the grenade falls into the water next to the ship, then the damage will be maximum ...

    If I hit the wall, then the scope would be black, not green!

    Maybe, I don't use grenade.

    Still, from the clip you show it appears to hit the wall.

    Could it be because even with a hit to the wall there would have been splash damage and scope doesn't turn black unless there is 0 possibility of damage?

    I will leave that to be answered by one of our resident experts.

    No, not necessarily. Grenades are a projectile weapon. This means that, when you shoot it, it WILL show you a green, since at THAT INSTANT, your target will be hit IF NOTHING changes. However, in this instance, your target was moving downwave and thus, the nade probably missed by a hair. However, your side saw it as, "Target hit" and the server side saw it as "Wall hit".

    It's similar to how at medium range, a blast cannon will show green on a target, but you have to LEAD it to actually hit the target. Similar concept.

    How is it without waves? The grenade does not fly so high, so the waves will often interfere with the grenade ...

    This sort of thing tends to happen when shooting an opponent while they're going down a wave. The grenade is not actually hitting the target though it looks like it.

    Happens all the time, please post the actual replay link here.. in a past experience I posted the link and months later I went to use it for reference, and it showed it landing differently that made sense. Bizzare things.
