Upgrading ship has become 5x to 6x more expensive since the update.

I was planning to upgrade my Defender, which was an mk3. Now it is level 20 and upgrading to level 21 and going from 10394 to 10588 HPcost me 655.000 pieces of gold. Before the update upgrading my mk3 Defender to a mk4 Defender and gaining a lot more HP costed (if I am right) 1.500.000 pieces of gold.

Mk4 now seems to be level 29, so that is 9 levels. If the price stays at 655.000 x 9 = 5.895.000 pieces of gold. But as we know every level becomes more expensive, so I think going from mk3 / level 20 to mk4 / level 29 will cost at least 8 million, maybe even more.

My level 39 / mk5 Speeder cost 1.480.000 million to upgrade just one single level.


So, since the update upgrading a ship costs 5, maybe 6 times as much as before! Now I know it is different now, with the levels, but these prices cannot be right IMO.

The new inflated gold cost is absolutely ridiculous.
It's ruined this update for me.

 

Hey Rovio, make the costs total up to same as before.

725,000( my best middle ground, as price increases)x9=6,525,000

Original mk3-4 cost was around 1,500,000.. that's quadruple as costly..

MY SIMPLE SOLUTION: just make each upgrade be a small amount and total up to 1,500,000 ( or other mk ups)

Like so:

1,500,000/9=166667 ( rounded up)

 

After rocking a L10 interceptor in the event against L50s and doing just fine, I'd say the unlocked slots, speed, etc is a good trade off.

Granted they added 1k HP to it for the event, but even so, I would never have been able to rock a Mk2-3 (or whatever the equivalent level would be) against Mk7s before.

 

Also, not to forget, costs of training with sugar has also increased. Wouldn’t be so bad if rewards for quests and matches were similarly increased but it doesn’t seem that they have.

 

I don't mind if prices just rise a bit, but this is a bit too much and discourages people from spending. Just like 49,99 dollar for the Interceptor. If it was 10 to 15 dollar as a welcome price, I think they would have sold thousands. I for sure would have bought one, but now I know just one person who bought one. The rest is just grinding and grinding to get one for free.

 

Getting the Interceptor is the cheap part... leveling it up requires 20x more Ship Pieces.

 

I gave up in leveling up ship. It’s much more efficient to level up your shields and to buy parts from the store rather then spend millions of gold for, at most, 150 hp. The new update has deterred me from leveling up my ships at all.
