Unusual setups

Every single combination of weapons I've been trying to use is giving me that "you have an unusual combination..." and paring me against people with gearscores at least 2k above me.

Is there an infamy range that we are supposed to be in to make that go away? Should i take my perks off so my weapons are weaker?

 

I don’t get it either? It’s been a problem nearly every second event for me
One week I’m fine the next every combo on every boat I can use is unusual and suddenly I’m facing mk7s
Last week using the exact same set ups I had no problem, and was matched against other mk5s this week it says I have unusual set up and am placed against boats above my weight class

 

I literally have tried every weapon i have and made my gs shift between 3.5k and 5k and i can't get out of this.

 

I learnt to live with it tbh
Hard match-ups but its better than nothing.

 

Yer I just find it strange lol one week match making seems reasonable the following it’s messed up lol

 

Lol I’m captain lvl39 and only just breaking into ace I don’t belong in these battles The lowest scorer on enemy team had more then 2k higher gearscore
Stupidest thing is that exact set up placed me against mainly only mk5s last week with the odd mk6
What changed?
It seems to do this crazy stuff every second week lol for every step in the right direction there’s two backwards

 

I wonder if they have a couple of different matchmaking algorithms that they use at different times. Even with some events it feels like it changes from one day to the next. Maybe they find that one algorithm isn’t fair to everyone so they rotate so it balances out? Or maybe it’s just a matter of luck based on what players are online to be matched against.

 

there is a certain gear score for every player (based on some things) that they need to play events with that gear score or higher ,mine used to be 7.9k-8k ,so I have to play with +7.9k or +8k (cause I don't know which one it is maybe 7976!)
that number isn't shown for players but you can approach it by trying different gear socres,

and of course that gear score changes when upgrading your item ,ship....etc and that gear score is the same for all ships. at least for all ships at the same MK because all of my ships are Mk6 and I haven't tried that in another account,

and it doesn't matter if you use a T5 legendary item with a lvl 1 common item ,if your gear score is higher than that certain gear score them you won't get that message.

Yep, its ahppening to me in exactly the same way. The problem is that my fixer isnt my main so i end up getting screwed up pretty badly by multiple mk7s.

maybe it is still counting your T4E nitro , have you scrapped any items recently?
well my shooter gear score is 8k and I was playing normal matches with it so maybe that is why it is 8k for me when I can have 9.8k ,so try that setup that you used in normal matches .

 

Despite the fact I’m using my normal set ups and best gear, the game thinks I’m manipulating my gearscore and so places me in matches against players who actually are lol
Those guys kill me in 3 shots while having 9500 and 16000 hp respectively! Lol not even close to fair even tho our gear scores are similar Lol we have similar gearscores yet my weapons don’t hurt as much, I’m not as fast and I have far less hp how is that even close to even?
Event match making is as broken as ever lol and this wasn’t even that bad of an example!
Usually the other boats have 2k higher gs and on occasion 4K more

 

Yeah, totally agree. event matchmaking is faulty.

 

Lol I scrapped that months ago. Tbh I did scrap a tier 1 leg 2 weeks ago so its probably coming up. Also i thinks its because I have some leg gear but some of my other gear like my big shield is only tier 2 epic
