Does nitro provide iframes?

title. i have shot a few ships in which it clearly shows that i've hit them, but they nitro as soon as the shot lands and the damage is negated. could it be lag? could it be that i've simply missed? or does nitro actually provide a milisecond of invincibility?

Nitro doesn’t provide any invincibility, as anyone who has Nitroed over a mine will attest. It’s probably just lag.

I also get it from the other side, where I Nitro out the way of a Shot, but take the damage anyway.

You don't do damage to people using Nitro because on their screen, they're already long gone. You need to make up for latency between players somehow so the options are either:

• The game trusts the position of the person being shot at (This is how it's currently done)
• The game trusts the person doing the shooting (This would be bad since you would be taking damage for possibly seconds after getting behind cover, if the person shooting you is laggy enough)

 

So, no it "doesn't" but for alllllll practical purposes yes it does.

 

If you lead far enough you can still hit nitro-ing people, happens pretty rarely though
