    Capture The Flag

    The overall goal in this mode is to capture your opponents flag BEFORE they capture yours. Sounds simple enough...​

    Changes from last week
    • Now the first team to capture wins.
    • Matches are shortened to 3 minutes of regular time.
    Gameplay Tips
    • You can only capture the enemy flag if your flag has been returned to your base.
    • When you kill the enemy flag carrier, you have to run over the flag to return it to your base.
    • While carrying the flag, your ship speed is capped at 1.5
    • If you use Overboost or Nitro while carrying the flag, you will drop it. Try to activate your Overboost just before you pick up the flag.
    • If a friendly ship with a flag is destroyed, the flag is dropped and can be picked up again.
    • Mines cannot be place inside flag bases.
    • Mine duration is reduced by 80% in CTF.
    • At the end of normal battle time, if the score is tied and any flag is not in home base, an additional 1 minute is added for overtime. Battle ends immediately if a team scores.
    • Every ship can do well in this event, but each ship does have it's own role. Try to adapt your role during the game to be what your team needs.
    • Shooters are best for defense and flag escorting. Try to get to your opponents flag location and maintain a position.
    • Fixers are outstanding for flag escorting. Selfish fixers can also be great flag carriers.
    • Speeders and Enforcers are great flag carriers if they use Tesla Shields. Tesla Stun users can be great flag escorts to protect their teammates.
    • Defenders are excellent for playing defense and controlling the enemy flag zone.
    How to earn more coins (in order of most coins to least)
    1. Carrying and capturing the flag.
    2. Shooting/killing the enemy flag carrier.
    3. Returning your flag.
    4. Healing your flag carrier.
    5. Doing a lot of damage.
    Overall Tips
    • You win by capturing before the unfriends.
    • You do NOT earn stars for guild quest during this event!
    • Fleeting is now allowed. Try to fleet as close in gear score as possible.
    • Try to run your most reliable, meta setups. You'll be matched against evenly geared opponents, so if their weapon is more reliable, they will probably win.
    Matchmaking Tips
    These tips are what I’ve gathered from personal experience and discussions with other well-known members and devs. If something I’ve stated is incorrect and the devs would like to chime in, they are welcome.
    • There is currently a bug where players with normal setups are receiving the "Unusual Combination" message when they hit Battle. It doesn't affect anything and the devs are working on it.
    • Matchmaking (MM) is based on “Power”. Power is a combination of your shown gear score and crew training. Review the gear score of your teammates and enemies often. If you are consistently getting matched against players with a much higher gear-score than you.....
    • There is an “anti-exploiting” rule that is affecting a lot of players. Basically, if you equip an item that is roughly 2-3 tiers below your highest item (for example, equipping an epic t3 and an epic t5) then you will be seen as an exploiter and the lower item will be given a higher gear score. Therefore, the best strategy is to equip items of all the same tier.
    • Infamy is no longer used at all in event matchmaking.

    Reward Requirements:
    You purchase one of three boxes for 35 coins that contains either parts, pieces, or perks. Once you have spent 900 coins, you get the Legendary Perk for free.
    Here are the possible purchases:

    For the piece and perk box, you are guaranteed one legendary piece or epic perk every 10 boxes, respectively.
    DO NOT SPEND YOUR COINS UNTIL YOU HAVE 910! COINS WILL ROLL OVER TO THE NEXT EVENT, BUT LEGENDARY METER WILL RESET.
    It might be beneficial to save 1050 coins if you are getting pieces/perks so you don’t miss out on the 10th box reward.
    If you average 5 coins per game, that is 180 games required to earn a Legendary perk.
    That is roughly 6 hours of gameplay (estimated average of 2-minute games).

    That's the spirit! I'd rather lose quickly and get 5 coins than lose in 6 minutes and get 5 coins.

    I think many players will have problems using the same exact tier level for all weapons and i disagree that if you use a T2 Epic Flare with a T5 Epic Explosive Cannon that has all burn perks, you should be considered an exploiter. I say this not for myself, since let's face, i'm all T5 all the time, but for the players who don't have the same access to leveling up their gear. I agree that you should give them a higher gear score but disagree calling them "exploiters". The exploiters are running uncommons and low rares with their T5 Epic gear. We know who they are when we see them.

    Oh and share tips? LOL no freaking way!

    I totally agree with you. I have an Epic lvl11 Nitro because RNGesus has not given me anymore. But I fear that if I run it I will be matched with harder opponents. My alternative is a T1 Legendary Tesla Bolt. Some people just haven't been lucky enough to have items all the same level.

    Like me,running lvl 30 rare Tesla bolt and t5 epic carronade but unfortunately couldn’t upgrade it to t4 due to the locked tier

    I don't like the change , that now the first person to capture wins. This is a huge advantage for the speeders. Imagine a team of 5 speeders. They would capture easily.

    I want it to be changed to first team to capture 2 flags win. This would be somewhat balanced for non yellow boats.

    Also, why did they have to introduce new shield perk?

    It's freaking strong already. Try to balance other items first, like introducing more perks for mortars, or Tesla bolt , which requires attention.:rolleyes:

    It would be better if it wasn’t yet another cannon perk as well. There are still items that have no event perks yet.

    My 2cents is that the speed cap should be 1.25 when carrying the flag, otherwise speeders will have the advantage. Slowing the carrier down will encourage the rest of the team to play more defensively to protect the carrier as well as for the defending team to have a chance to re-capture their flag.

    I say this from the point of view when trying a Defender with a 1.2 (single Epic Turbo) or 1.3 (Epic + Rare turbos) max speed, and all I could do was to watch the speeder(s) quickly move out of range.

    That exploitative rule is nonsense, seriously, my best load out includes T5 epics and T1 legendary, I know of people stuck with a t4 rare that also have a t1 legendary. It's not by choice.

    I like that idea. Or maybe make it a boosted speed event so Defenders have close to 1.5 speed.

    Legendary is treated differently as far as tier. T1 Legendary = T5 Rare. I don't love the rule either... but something has to be done to try to prevent awful seal clubbing. If you've got a better idea, please post it in the Suggestions section.

    my epic big shield is lvl 20 since 5 months.And what i get from blue boxes....only rudder{7~8}everytime i scrapped the rudder,but this time i hv kept it.enough is enough
