New update : -2000 on my gear score?

Heya guys I'm just curious if any of you all have also taken a significant gear score drop with this update? If it's part of the update then sweet beans but just kinda got my feelings hurt going from a barely over 8000 Mk5 gs back down to barely over 6000...definitely making me reconsider some tactics fir my ship. I don't have a screenshot of my set up right before the update but I do have one from when I was lvl 36 and still at a higher gs than what I am currently sporting. Just was curious though, thanks

maybe they redesigned gear score somehow, to reflect true power of items and also made the numbers lower (only my guess)
if not, then I don't know

edit:
my speeder had gearscore above 3.6k (don't know the exact number), now it's 3.4
my big shield had more than 600, now only 396

 

I just checked, and my gear score went down as well. I upgraded to mk6 and got way better stuff and gearscore still dropped by 400.

 

Ok so it's probably for the better then, thanks for the feedback guys! I just didn't notice my guild mates having any differences but then again I don't pay super close attention to theirs in the first place

I believe it has to do with gear scores of Perks in particular.

 

yeah you are right
TL;DR
% (speed boost, damage, range, cooldown etc.) perks add exactly same % to gs and stat, perks that add numbers (hp perks, duration perks etc.) add gs as number, but only low, epic hp perk for shield adds only 38 gs
but
crit chance (sniper, cannon, grenade) perks add number, damage to burning adds number, too

You really think you were singled out with the update? I dropped nearly 4k GS, yes everyone was given the effects
