Maybe a dumb question, but why CAN'T we earn stars for event matches?

    I feel like it's just a holdover from back when stars were how you got the perks and no one bothered to change it now that it's coins. I mean, we still earn all the same gold and sugar, why are STARS the only normal reward held back from event matches? It really sucks when the whole guild is grinding the event and you've got this ONE DAMN STAR QUEST to finish on page 3 and no one wants to do it because the event is such a limited time thing and so the whole guild sits on page 3 for like 20 hours longer than usual all because of that one STUPID QUEST.

    Probably so there's still a reason for players to play ranked matches during events

    But... why, though? I mean the event is BLATANTLY more profitable for just about everyone to play. Why prop up the significantly worse mode in such a punitive way when you won't actually change player behavior for the most part, just make the overall experience slightly and annoyingly worse?

    Players are always going to be playing regular matches to try to do well In their league, and so they would want to give an incentive to keep the matchmaking queues filled

    But if your concern is your rank, you are already incentivized to play the regular mode. It's just such an annoying little poke in the eye of those who want to farm the event, it doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

    Think about it this way. If BB had 10 players, ONE might have an incentive to play, like pushing in ranked. But 9 wouldn't play because of the event. So the one player would stay in the queue for a VERY long time. Thus the incentive.

    Meh. Makes no sense to me. I don't buy that stars are that much of an incentive. They're just an annoyance for people who have to leave the event to fulfill a guild quest.

    I think it adds strategy, make sure to complete star quest before the event starts;)

    That's stupid. There's no telling when the star quest will pop up, on which page.

    For fixers it's just annoying.

    Our guild was at 2nd position, when the event started. And we had to complete 1 quest - star holder , to complete the board. But, no one played the normal battles and hence we moved to 4th position. I don't blame my guild mates. The event is there for a limited time, and during that period most of the players will be busy playing the event.

    So, I suggest to completely remove the star holder quest as what @xArrogance said.
