guide for developers: how to exploit event matchmaking

    it is not a qq post nor teaching people how to exploit, its my research result on the matchmaking of event. please do not use it to exploit the event, because whenever soemone wins someone will lose. newbs are the one who got hit the most which ends up killing the game.
    1. nothing to do with infamy.

    2. each mk has a gs range, higher will match with higher infamy, lower will match with lower infamy. if breaking the current mk range will match next level of mks or higher, if break lower range wont match with lower mks.

    2.1 exploit punishment. breaking the lowest gs your mk should be will end up having chance to match with the highest infamy match, like mk5 match with mk7s with max legends. yes, there is punishment in this, but so many ways to go around. that is why some people dont believe they can exploit it because they break the lowest gs their mk should be and got hit by punishment.

    3.mk count a large portion of matchmaking but will effect by breaking gs range. i wont post the gs range for differ mks because people will exploit it, go test yourself.

    4. perks gives huge gs, but gives small power. foer example, damage perks for cannons increase 14% damge but increase 80% gs. almost double the gs for 14% damage. unbalanced!!!

    5. hp perks on shields worth the gs increase if you have maxed talanet

    6. talent wont increase gs. since talent may improve gear stats by 40% or higher. good luck to newbs.

    7. defenders is the best boat to exploi matchmaking since theres many blue slot to control gs. double big shield is better then 1 big an 2 small.

    Rovio should make it so that people cannot select a ship 2+ MKs lower than their highest rank. People own an MK7 cannot use MK5 or lower in any battle except Custom. This will prevent unfairness to the ones in battle.

    Also need to cap what item tier on what MK. MK1 can only use at max tier 1 rare or lower rarity equivalence. MK2 can use epic tier 1 or rare tier 2 or equivalence of lower rarity.
    MK3 - tier 3 epic, tier 4 rare
    MK4 - legendary tier 1
    MK5 and up can use any items.

    Or the simple solution: Use infamy based matchmaking!

    If they insist on the power score they could atleast add a min score you will match at regardless of how low you go. I.e. if you are lvl 48+ you will get matched as 8000+ gearscore if you try to queue with less than that. Numbers being random here, low enough to allow some goofing around, but high enough to keep t5 epic weapons away from beginner games.

    That too and what I recommending would make manipulating the system extremely hard and preventing abuse of the noobs.

    Simply make it about captain level. My mk2 enforcer had to fight a mk3 defender with over 5,000 hit points. The player's captain level was 44 (mine is 15 on the enforcer account) so they had full advantage of Brock's training benefits, not to mention weapon damage, speed, etc. I find it unusual that no-one talks about captain level for match making especially when it represents player planning and ship applied attributes.

    This effin match making including infamy for sure.
    Our team had less than 10000inf and the other team had over 11000inf in a row games. what the heck devs. It's totally no skill game mode you know.

    No, what about the people who actually earned better weapons? This would be unfair to people who scrapped the items of lower level and kept their high one, but cannot use it.

    There should be an announcement and a grace period for this. Who do you know that just play and only own MK1 or MK2 will all epic and legendary items? If you in an MK1 or MK2 with an epic item, you're very lucky. Doesn't take that player long to get to MK3.

    Someone I know got a tier two epic at mk2, one from guild raffle, and one from combining pieces, but it still took a while to get mk3.

    I don’t think there is anything inherently ‘wrong’ with people using much lower mk ships than their main.

    I quite like being able to play games with my mk3 Defender... I never get to use that ship in regular games, and it is fun.

    Do I use it with OP weapons? Yeah (sort of), but that’s not because I want to cheat. I’m an Ace 1 player, my worst Blast Cannon is a t5 Rare... I’d happily play with a t2 or t3, but I don’t have one. If that means my mk3 gets matched against mk4s (or even mk5s), then fine, that seems fair.

    What isn’t fair though, is when my mk3 is getting matched against mk5s with legendary weapons, just because they equipped a common Nitro and uncommon OB.

    That’s not a problem with players using lower tier stuff, it’s a problem with matchmaking undervaluing some builds.
