Using Gearscore in matchmaking is unfair

    The calculation of gearscore is bad. Really bad.

    It is really really easy to abuse the system and we see unfair gears like this. Can you beat it with 340 gear score?

    They are playing with others who are still using Blue Tier II or III weapons and sometimes they can one-shot players. They reduce their gear score by replace their yellow items.

    There is a bug which means that the gear score of a ship doesn’t always automatically update when you change from one ship to another.

    This looks like a classic case of it happening. That T5E would have a gear score of over 1000 easily.

    This ship will be subject to matchmaking based on its real gear score, not the one shown on screen.

    Therefore it is just a minor bug, not abuse.

    That was an extreme case. What I am trying to tell is, it is really easy to lower down your gear score by a few thousands by replacing items like nitro or tesla shield with a common lv 1. Also, remove all perks and the gs can even be lower while the attacking power doesn't reduce that much

    it should be 3k+ gs, match with mk3 or mk 4 with 30 rares and some perks. maxed epic vs 30 rares, its not abuse, its raped

    That enforcer has more health than most MK4 shooter. Extremely powerful weapons for MK4 to handle. If that missiles all landed, it likely 1 shot most MK4s. Devs not saying this is abuse because they messed up.

    In my opinion, there is currently insufficient evidence in this thread to say whether the matchmaking is fair is this case as we have not seen how strong the other players are. All we have seen is one ship.

    Yeah. Anyway, by using weak items, they are weakening themselves anyway. That tier 1 common nitro ain't going to help. U might as well not have it at all.

    It's doing the same thing as tier 5 legendary, just weaker. The heavy damages are what give them huge advantages plus the massive health for MK3.

    T1 common Nitro with cooldown reduced is almost doing the same thing in the event.

    someone once had 5k gear score used 2 tier III epic items, 2 tier IV epic items, a tier 4 big shield with a tier 3 turbo. and they all had perks
    i think that LEGENDAIES have WAY more gear score than epics and rares

    He doesn’t need to move much against noobs, the noobs he’s facing with thier weaker weapons lol especially with his bigger fire power
    And there are even high lvl players who are using t2 uncommons (maybe built a couple specifically for events?) on mk1 boats so they fight with other mk1 boats lol
    a lvl 40+ players t2 uncommon items are at least twice as powerful, if not even more then a lvl 10s t2 weapons and not to mention the lvl 10 player doesn’t even have a full set

    Maybe. Training also helps. But what I am saying is that the advantage isn't that big if they use weak items.

    Yes it's. If those players came in with exactly the same strength items, their skills make them a big advantage already.
