Can’t be fair

So I’m not trying to sound salty, I actually don’t care that much about any of the prizes this week.

But out of the last 20 matches, my team has won 4. This is very reminiscent of last week, when I had long strings of losses (3 wins out of 20, 5 wins out of 30). At this rate I’ll need to play about 600+ games to finish the event.

I’ve tried different weapons different ships, and it’s starting to feel pretty pointless. How exactly does this ‘power level’ thing work?

I feel like it must be me, but even when I’m the best player, my team still loses. So now I’m starting to wonder if I’m being overrated by matchmaking. I often seem to come up against people with better gear, or similar gear but a higher mk ship.

Why is it so hard?

 

I'm not a huge fan of this event either.
I played 10 matches with normal setup(speeder mk5, mine, big torp + frost), and only won one game(because I got carried).
Then I finally figured that shooters are OP in this event, so I got my mk3 shooter, and slapped a sniper, tri torp, big torp, and big shield on to it. This shooter now gives me around a 60% win rate, but I'm literally only matched with mk3/mk2 seal clubbers like me. It's still fun to wreck easier opponents, and I can actually carry my team.

 

I find Tesla Bolt and Nitro very useful in this event. I’ve won most of the games in which I was the only yellow boat.

I don’t have training for Sniper, so I tried double Blast and Big Torp on a Shooter. Still getting matched against higher mk ships, but...


TBH, this just proves everything I’ve always thought about Shooters being OP ‘generally’. Having more weapons is such a huge advantage if you actually aim.

Agreed,I use shippy gears yet the other 5 ppl are all tier5 FREAKING EPICS just because mk6 Events are supposed to be where I atleast have fun with terrible gear and skills but seems not

Just use damage towards weapon achievements

Perks mean nothing to me this time, have none of the weapons for any of the perks

 

What is your gear score range? Easy 20+wins for me around 3000-3500 gear score range lol

 

Yep.The event is nice to me.I am using my speeder with Swift Torp+Grenade+Overboost+Nitro and all I have to do is to just assist my teammates.
Experiencing DEFEAT when the enemy team has a FIXER

You have all Mk6 ships?

 

I just use mk 5 defender with all shields and one turbo
The reduced cooldown means I can constantly fire my ex cannon and blasts

 

dude, your problem is exaggerated, in contrast to the topic "fixer's stars."
Everyone likes the event! the problem is in you! and in your silly equipment for this event. You have 2k HP, and super low speed >> so.....of course you are meat for all.

 

The best advice I can give is if you use a lower level ship, use lower level items. The gear score matchmaking isn't actually pure... it will adjust your matches to give you tougher opponents if you throw high level Epics or Legendaries onto an MK3 boat, even if gear score is the same. In other words use nothing above Rares on your MK3 ship.

When I made the topic I had a 6k hp Speeder, with t5 Epic EC, Blast and Tesla Bolt. Which should be awesome... That’s the ship that could barely win any games.

The 2k hp ship with no speed, that you called ‘silly’, is the ship that @Fluid Bait suggest I try instead. THAT’S THE SHIP THAT WINS!

The problems with these events are that you are teamed up by equipment points (or at least so I heard). As a shooter, I win 1 every 5~6 battles. Besdies, shooters shouldn't be op for this event thanks to the short cool off for weapons. Shooters lost their advantage since any ship can do non-stop damage. I think you started to win with shooter because your shooter is MK4 and you are most likely matched with less skilled players, assuming most people will participate with their best ships. I think enforcers and defenders are the winners for the current event.

 

the next time you attach screenshots, we do not know how to read your thoughts and guess what your ship is.
advice - take the carronade and big torpedo for the speeder — permanent death for the yellows and a splinter for the shooters.
