I think, for us, regular player, it's mean nothing ^^

These type of tournament are reserved to the players who pays a lot or those who play very very very well ... But actually if you are less than mk7 don't even think about it :D

    Am I right ?

I'll try to explain the term 'esports' and its link to games - (Idk about battle bay tho)

Just like the major tournaments of the sports you like, such as football say, we have uefa league, barclays, world cup, la liga etc etc which are globally recognized and have things organized 'officially' rather than the local games and come with a prize pool, (with a large fanbase too) with the facility to live broadcast or go live (as you watch in telly/net) are recognized as official live sports events.

Similarly esports are just the same world cup version of any major video-game or even mobile games nowadays that are 'official' (not the local games you play), with the ability to livestream, and come with a prize pool and other stuff for winning, just like in an official tournament. And yes, all the games in esports nowadays come with a huge fanbase. (Hundreds of millions)
Livestreaming is done as many players watch livestreams of pro players, just like you wait to watch ronaldo or messi play. (Example)
One major thing to be noted is that they are 'team' games (just like normal soccer) and you reach upto a certain reputation alongwith a team.

Of course to play you have to be a bit of an exponent in your cadre of the game you play, altough nowadays it is easier to climb to esport rankings.

Some examples of popular esports games are dota, MLBB (which i play too), tanki online, CS-go, league of legends etc.

There are lots of esports communities and professional gaming teams now. (You earn money for playing, winning tourneys which is awesome + fans give you a lot of stuff both in-game and support to social accounts)
Am part of tanki online's esports SLTV team which airs on russian telly primarily and hosts 'seasons' of different xp/bp format games.

Actually in the video, we can see they are all lvl 50 full epic tier V, though some of them have legendaries or mk6 in real game...

Looks more like a marketing stunt than Esport :) Some great players there (Godlike fx), but also several that are only there because they stream / youtube. Would rather watch 5vs5 with actual topplayers fight it out with equalized gear, than youtube jokers.
    ----
Its exciting to see that the infrastructure of gear equalization is made though - Lets hope we get an event that utilize it!

The lineup was, Godlike, WarNet, Bastone, Genki Gamers and Bittersteel

Youtube jokers ? Dont you think these are the guys putting the game out there so people join and play ?

No disrespect meant towards Godlike & Bittersteel :)

Using players like WarNet and descriping it as notorious is good humor, but why would I watch players that are as trash as myself play?

Why wouldn't you want to support the content creators ? Help the game grow ?
If there weren't any content creators, like myself, Bastone, Genki, WarNet.. Do you think the game would be as popular ?

Yes I think the game would be exactly as popular without youtube. Perhaps Im too old to get it, but Ill bet that most of your viewers are already playing BB. But Im not really your target audience, till now theres been 1 youtubers videos that I made an effort to follow & that defender has left the Bay along time ago.

All I said was that the chosen crowd (atleast half) arent chosen for their sublime skills. I would rather watch Messi play football, than a guy who has a blog about football. Mostly I dislike clickbait with a passion, claiming setups to be notorious & then having players that are worse than a nobody like myself is silly. Fly in the asian wonderboys & Ill watch their “sport” :)

I don’t agree that it would be as popular without YouTube, but I as well do not watch YouTube at all, mainly for the same reason you said, why watch people play the same as me if not worse (not trying to say anyone here, just all the streaming in general fornite and elsewhere), let alone why would I not just be playing instead of watching.

I would be a lot more interested in watching a match for being the undisputed best team in the game over being the most watched, But that’s just the way it is in most tournaments I’ve seen, although there are sometimes special guests that won championships in other games.
