So... will my speed cap increase when I eventually go to Mk7 Defender?

    I'm so annoyed that there's a speed cap in the first place, but will it at least increase when I finally get to upgrade my boat?

    Yes,speed cap will be increased when you upgrade your boat :)

    I think a lot of the base stats improve too, like agility and turret speed (back to the mk5 stats).

    If you use a turbo, your ship can't go faster than the speed cap. Overboost and nitro ignore the speed cap though.

    Tap on your ship's speed stat, it'll show the max speed for that ship.
