Rares vs Epics

    I have seen that there is a huge difference in power between rare and epic Tesla shield.
    A T2 epic ts is better than t4 rare.
    I am already sort on epic power cell and wish to stick to rares for a while unless there are similar cases as Ts. That is t2 being better than t4.

    Most rares seem to max, at about the same point legendaries start. Rare Tesla Shield is the exception, as it’s quite a lot weaker than a leggy, at L50.

    Most Epics won’t overtake a L40 Rare until about L25 (t3). I think the best advice is to stick with Rares, and just save your epics to see what you get. Once you get 3 or 4 duplicates, you can think about levelling them up and switching.

    It’s probably not a good idea to focus on Epics before that, as there is no telling when you might find a duplicate. And you don’t want to still be stuck with t2 Epics later in the game, when you could have easily upgraded rares to t4-t5.

    Nailed it. Comparing the "output stats" of the two items only tells a small part of the story, as it is much more difficult to acquire duplicates of Epic items, and significantly more expensive in terms of parts/gold/sugar to level them. Epic Parts specifically are expensive, and don't appear in the shop as regularly as the lower tiers.

    Check this thread by @Sifa where the resources needed are shown - https://forum.battlebay.net/threads/total-parts-and-sugar-required-to-upgrade-epic-rare-items.16688/ - and take that into account when deciding.

    Personally speaking, my stash of duplicates and resources led me to Rare 50 before Epics were a viable option. (Still don't have a fourth Epic Repair Bolt.) And with the new weapons achievements giving you a chance to earn a Legendary item through gameplay rather than chance, you may end up jumping straight from Rare to Legendary before getting the duplicates needed to make your Epic worthwhile (and it'll be cheaper to level up as well!)

    Here is the line chart for Tesshield (100 is t5L and 1 is level 1 common)

    But here is the chart for Standcannon

    Rare tesla shield is 6/100 under t1L, but Standcan is only 1/100 !! I wonder why?

    Yes, rare Tesla Shield needs buff. We all know it..

    most epic is.30% stronger then rares and same scale. there are some exceptions, bandage and shield, epic 40% powerful then rares. yellow items scale differ, epic always 16 levels powerfull then rares. i donno why dev mades these exceptions, someone knwos?

    I did that too but I believe it’s better to get as much HP as possible, specially if you don’t have really op items
